Hopes have been raised that the cargo ship could be freed today after emergency crews were ordered to start offloading containers. Experts previously budged its stern and get its rudder and propeller working.
The Dutch-flagged Alp Guard and the Italian-flagged Carlo Magno, which were called in to work alongside tugboats already on scene, reached the Red Sea near the city of Suez earlier today.
They will now help nudge the Ever Given as dredgers continue to vacuum up sand from underneath the vessel and mud caked to its port side. They have so far shifted 27,000 cubic metres of sand around the ship to reach a depth of 60ft (18m) , the authority said in a statement.

Apples and oranges.
Fly a bunch of BLMers there and tell them they can keep whatever they can carry off the ship. The ship will be empty in a week.
Maybe faster to build a by pass.
Or....Blow the damn ship up or pull it down.
Easy as that. I wjll check my shed for some steel plates the size of a canal.
Does it have EZ Pass so it can just charge the account?
Are higher rates charged during rush hour?
“How long would it take to get THAT massive equipment ON SITE???
How long, then, to dig your new canal?
Hmmmm?”
I’m sure they got one in Gaza somewhere...
I said that earlier!! Unload the cargo! But better yet just unload cargo from bow.. That way the stern with the extra weight will lift the stern and float free!
So you're saying it's certain?
bttt
Problem with unloading it is, there's probably no crane in Egypt that can do it and/or could be moved to the remote rural location where the ship ran aground. Captions, some on-site wind noise etc, otherwise no sound:
Suez Canal: Ever Given 'partially refloated' after blocking trade route for six days
First, I am far from an expert in these matter
I recall folks inflating round rubber bladder/tubes around their home to protect against rising flood water.
Could they install a temporary dam to raise the water level and float the ship out of trouble??????
That’s an engineering marvel created by ThyssenKrupp.......
You could put it on a barge and float it into position then.....
oh wait, never mind
That’s a neat online facility, and a real godsend for pirates, shiver me timbers!

[snip] Suez Canal Authority (SCA)... said the stern of the hulking cargo ship was now positioned about 335 feet from the bank of the canal, whereas it had previously been stuck only about 15 feet from the bank. [/snip]
It is apparently not out of the canal:

The vessel was floated at 4:30 this morning Egypt time
