Johnson & Johnson should come close to hitting its target of delivering 20 million doses of its one-shot COVID-19 vaccine in March after its shipments stalled in recent weeks, a top White House official said on Monday (22 Mar)...
The company shipped four million shots in early March but its rollout has since stalled as facilities involved in the manufacturing await clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
...far less than the 20 million it promised to deliver by the end of March...
J&J did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Initial U.S. doses have been made at the company’s plant in Leiden, the Netherlands. J&J has been waiting on the FDA to approve plants of outside contract manufacturers that will produce the vaccine, such as Catalent Inc.
"We're gonna see a nice increase in Johnson and Johnson this week," Slavitt said...

What’s J&J paying them to push their vax?
Same here in SC. Small independent pharmacies got 100-400 and all were gone supposedly. No appointments available.
Sorry for your loss. You say he died after shot #1. This thread is about the J&J vaccine that is only 1 shot. Are you sure he got the J&J or are you thinking of the Pfizer and Moderna shots which are #1 and the #2 is too be given after a few weeks pass?
“What’s J&J paying them to push their vax?”
PAR35 was also wondering if the J&J delay had been Hunter waiting for the check to clear.
These vaccines themselves are a hot commodity, owned and controlled by the Government.
They can skim kickbacks from how they allocate the product, as well as being a toll gate for the companies to enter the market.
2.5 million American doses of the AZ vaccine have recently been announced to be going to Mexico, and 1.5 million to Canada. Did they work out some Quid Pro Joe?
Sounds like a lot more J&J is on the way, this week and next. Many times more than before.
Be on the look out. Appointments open when new supply hits the retail systems as received.

No doubt in my mind!
Holding out for the J&J.
No mRNA for me.

Just uncheck the other vaccines before searching.
You still have to meet the State/Local eligibility criteria - but if not now, they are fixing to open up all the way, between now and May 1st.
“Was your cousin previously ill?”
I’m not sure; don’t think so. We weren’t close. When his mother and father (my uncle) divorced he was a small boy and went to live with his mother. He re-connected with our family about five years ago, after about 65-70 years.
All of us 20+ cousins were just getting to know him. Very sad to lose him now ‘cause everyone just clicked and we were looking forward to years ahead of us.
I don’t know which company’s shot, or if a shot #2 was in the future. I just know he got a vax for the first time.
>Have you started growing horns, like the ones who took the Modera shots?
No horns but I hear a voice that sounds like Bill Gates telling me not to eat meat. ;)

Yipe! And come to think of it, all I had for dinner was salad. Gulp.
I am waiting for jnj. Told perhaps late April or early may.

Thank you. The governor has reserved most of the shots for our brave but underpaid teachers
The J&J I guess offers less protection but they claim it is 100% effective to prevent hospitalization due to Covid. Not so sure how they can make such a claim but I don’t mind a mild sickness every once in a while.
“Got J&J last week through the VA. Not much out there.”
I spent about 15 months in Vietnam, in a combat zone the whole time. I’m not eligible for the Covid shots thru VA, I make too much money. I don’t feel any gushy caring coming from my Government; I feel punishment.
The JNJ shot is a traditional vaccine. It doesn’t reprogramm your DNA like the Pfizer & Moderna vaccines. So if I’m getting a shot, I’m waiting for the JNJ shot.
I registered through VA for the COVID shot, and they did not ask my income.
These shots are a whole different deal, then regular medical care - they are all pre-paid by the FedGov, no matter where you get it (some places have a service charge for doing the injection, but not VA)
I don’t meet the eligibility requirements yet, but serving in Vietnam means you probably do (over 65). Just between me and you, you have my respect and thanks for sticking your neck out over there.
VA tends to have a better supply then most places, because they have a formal role in the vaccine monitoring program.

I love your sense of humor.
Elegantly understated.
