The company shipped four million shots in early March but its rollout has since stalled as facilities involved in the manufacturing await clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

J&J did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Initial U.S. doses have been made at the company’s plant in Leiden, the Netherlands. J&J has been waiting on the FDA to approve plants of outside contract manufacturers that will produce the vaccine, such as Catalent Inc.

Yes. He died two days after shot #1. Quietly, as he slept in his recliner. A healthy 77 year old. On Saturday we watched his memorial service streamed online.
The service was lovely, with beautiful music and a thoughtful speech by the minister. Then it was ruined because the attendees, including the minister and soloist, were wearing their DAMNABLE MASKS!! Shameful what has become of this country.

He was 77 and healthy. His/our family is known for longevity — going strong and sharp well into their 90s. (Mom is 96, and spent the last three months traveling to several states.)
Anyhow, he got the shot on a Friday — two Fridays ago — and his wife found him dead in his recliner Sunday night. I don’t know any more details. His obit contained a long list of military honors and medals. Sweet family even though they’re DC-area libs.

I presume some of that will end up in export markets, and for the handful who will do “medical tourism” to get a vaccine here in the US before they can get them at home.

Got an appointment for J&J Saturday morning and got the shot that afternoon.
Felt crappy starting that night and lasting into the next afternoon. No energy. Some shaking and hard to stay warm. Fever to 101 degrees. Same symptoms as when i got the chinese disease one year ago.
Thanks, Beau. That link is still working. A sibling and an in law got their first shots last week and didn’t have to drive 50-100 miles away to get it.

Grampa Dave is the hero for that vaccine finder.
The next 3 months will likely see us wear it out, in what will likely be the biggest vaccination push ever.
Exactly where I am. But I’m experiencing a lot of scorn from people who question why I would want to get the vaccine that is “less protection” than the others. They assume I lean toward J&J simply because it’s only one shot. Eyeroll.

Second shot of vaccine, or the first shot for those who have had the disease, is supposedly the peak reaction that you are going to see (unless the nightmare scenario of ADE comes to pass, but that seems increasingly unlikely, as the numbers have grown so large).
They say those effects are a sign that the immune system is working strongly, after having been well primed.
It is hard to predict who will feel those side effects. Many don’t.
One Freeper recommended tylenol as effective treatment. I usually recommend a light schedule or day off after the second shot (or first if you think you’ve had the Wu Flu).
