"It’s been 17 years since the original Assault Weapons Ban expired, and the plague of gun violence continues to grow in this country. To be clear, this bill saves lives. When it was in place from 1994-2004, gun massacres declined by 37 percent compared with the decade before. After the ban expired, the number of massacres rose by 183 percent."
Gun massacres declined and the bill 'saves lives' ???
LOL!
1) What gun massacres is she referring to or dreaming of that declined?
2) How are these claimed 'massacres' categorized... by weaponry, death count; or by personal, cult, organizational motive/intent? And if so, where can we find this published official information?
3) And how were these decline/increase statistics determined and supported? What were the determining factors, and what years/decades were included? Were they equivalent over the same time periods or exaggerated/conflated time periods to give the perception of change by an artificially created increase/decrease based upon manipulated/loose-use (of) data and time lines... meant to give the appearance that the 1994-2004 ban had a direst effect in saving lives.
4) And what weapons were used in each of these so-called 'massacres' of which Feinstein's statement attributes were a direct result of the lifting of the 1994-2004 ban on a particular style of weapon having shown no proof that a particular weapon previously banned was in-fact used in said 'massacres.'
Dianne Feinstein is disingenuous, a propagandist and a liar.
If saving lives were the mission of government intentions... then why not abolish the abortion industry, outlaw murder, outlaw drug use, outlaw suicides, outlaw viruses and heart disease, outlaw alcohol and cigarettes, outlaw cheeseburgers and obesity, outlaw high-risk professions, outlaw driving/flying/walking/running, outlaw high-risk sports, outlaw stupid choices/behavior, outlaw famine... and outlaw death and the grim reaper!!
Such ludicrous intentions to save lives of which government was never tasked with... the regulation of personal choice in behavior, activity and pursuits. Indeed to save lives, government takes on the mantra of a posing 'Savior' a false protector that must regulate the activities and behaviors of everyone and everything that surrounds and influences us... it is for our own good and by the good intentions of government wanting to help you.
Democrats are a complete clown show of fruitcake idiocracy with a god complex.

I am sure happy that I don’t possess any assault rifles. I do have many MSRs (Read: Modern Sporting Rifles)

Odd her husband was caught in the college admissions scandal but he didn’t get sent to prison like Lori Loughlin.
Has Dianne invited widdle girl Christine Blasey Ford for tea lately?

Assault weapons are not the problem. How many murders in Chicago, Baltimore, Memphis, Atlanta, or other major cities this year were committed with assault rifles versus handguns? Since you ask you can find stats here You could find 2018-19 on the FBI site but I didn't bother looking since they're about the same.
Total murcers 2013-2917 12,253 12,270 13,750 15,296 15,129. Rifles 285 258 258 378 403
Yes, I know you asked assault rifles but they don't collect that info. Rifles at around 2.5% to 3% it's not statistically significant.
Other weapons more dangerous that rifles to be banned first.
Knives or cutting instruments 1,490 1,595 1,589 1,632 1,591
Blunt objects (clubs, hammers, etc.) 428 446 450 479 467
Personal weapons (hands, fists, feet, etc.)1 687 682 659 669 69
Sorry for posting unformatted but it's insignificant.

Semi-auto rifles were still available all during Clinton’s ban. They simply removed the flash suppressor, bayonet lug and made the folding stock permanent, then sold them anyway.Note my last post, Dianne is talking about "assault weapons" which by the Democrat's definition includes lever actions, bolt actions and single shot rifles. Many 19th century designs listed, also rifles like the Winchester model 70 and all Contender and Encore single shot. We know her mind is straying.

Thanks for the stats. About what I expected. Rifles aren’t the issue but they are being used as the first step.

This is the step. This bill bans lever actions, bolt actions and single shot rifles. They missed crossbows.

My mistake, some of the lever, single shot and bolt actions were on a portion of the bill listing presumably suspect rifles which were exempted from the ban. Still, it lets you know what they’re coming for

Well given that picture of it obvious that all f you older people do NOT need to have those evil assault weapons....😀
You might think you are gong to become a gurilla fighter after the republic falls like some think it will. Now I hate to break it too you geriatric freedom fighters but them evil assault weapons are heavy and all them drums or magazines are heavy too...😎. So I’d suggest you get one of your younger grandkids to help care all the stuff you’ll need as a freedom fighter...that’s what i’ m going to do....right after I get my afternoon nap😁
On a serious note however I think will die n the senate. But given how the inmates are running the dc asylum you never know.

I still believe in the end the Democrats will consider any semiautomatic weapon to be an assault weapon. After they grab them, the next target will be any pistol or rifle with a cartridge size larger than a 22 csl. Then they will be last.
To: SJackson
From what I have read in the past, the original California AW ban also included lever action rifles. Neal Knox is the one who found this and let the world know.
It was because so many reproduction rifles of the Winchester type now contained more than 10 shots. Same for the Italian reproductions. (Henry Rifle, Win 66, Win 1873, Win 1894 in pistol calibers.)
The lever action part was removed and the law was shelved until California released Pat Purdy from a mental institution, allowed him to buy guns violating federal laws and passed the waiting period.
He then shot up the Stockton School yard. The shelved bill was pulled out and passed before any opposition could be mounted against it.

A US Government printed book everyone needs to read. No longer in print and highly suppressed. I have a paper copy.
I found a copy on line.
the 1982 Senate Report on THE RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS.
It also has opposing views. Remember this was printed when they “ONLY wanted to ban handguns. Rifles will not be affected!”
https://guncite.com/journals/senrpt/senrpt.html
“The conclusion is thus inescapable that the history, concept, and wording of the second amendment to the Constitution of the United States, as well as its interpretation by every major commentator and court in the first half-century after its ratification, indicates that what is protected is an individual right of a private citizen to own and carry firearms in a peaceful manner.”
