A federal judge on Friday dismissed a lawsuit filed by three Democratic state attorneys general that had sought to force the federal government to recognize Virginia’s vote last year to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment and add it to the Constitution.
Shortly after Virginia became the 38th state to ratify the amendment that supporters say will guarantee women equal rights under the law, the archivist of the United States declared he would take no action to certify the amendment’s adoption, citing an opinion from the Department of Justice under the Trump administration.
Constitutional amendments must be ratified by three-quarters of the states, or 38, but Congress enacted a ratification deadline for the ERA that passed decades ago.

typical response from a limited thinker that’s still fighting the last battle.
I am tired of the "not good enough for my vote" jackasses that are willing to lose a seat in the name of political purity.
I’m not happy with the streak of cowardice in many establishment republicans, either. but I can spot suicide when I see it.
we committed suicide in GA.
All Demagogic Party AGs have to be removed.
yeah, we wanted people to vote in the GA runoff. that’s your version of idiotic.
15 minutes out of their covid idled lives is all we needed.
that’s idiotic.
This is what is wrong with the Judiciary, The Amendment Clearly had a Time Limit, Everyone knew it, the 3 Demonrat Lawyer Attorney Generals all Knew it. The Wussy Judge Should have Sanctioned All 3 of them Severely. a $10,000 Sanction gets you DISBARRED, the Judge should have Sanctioned ALL of them $25,000 for Abuse of Process.
Yeah, cause working so hard to get Kavanaugh and Barrett on the bench really helped Texas and 20 some odd other states win that court decision.
Maybe it’s time for this modern day empire to follow it’s Roman ancestor. They say Apathy is what allows dictators to come to power, but quite frankly, I no longer care.
Let the people starve.
“typical response from a limited thinker that’s still fighting the last battle.”
We don’t win future battles if we don’t sort out what happened on Nov 3 2020
a bazillion unverified and illegitimate mail ballots happened on November 3rd.
Women already have equal rights. Name one “right” men have that women do not.
I’ll wait....
I think it’s possible that we are proving that the American experiment in representative democracy is a failure, or is failing.
We’re not smart enough to elect our own leaders any more. You don’t have to look farther than Detroit or California to worry that we’re headed for the cliff.
The problem is, the Left has no guardrails, and our side will reach it’s limit. Let’s say PT had been re-elected and the Democrats kept the House. We would have definatly lost the Senate in 22. Don’t know about 24, but it is tough to win 3 elections in a row. No, this conflict will blow up whether we like it or not.
Not under current law. But if they required men and women to register I bet they require other to register.
I will say that CA will be what CA has become. It is that I have now witnessed the outright fraud perpetrated in Detroit, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Atlanta, and Phoenix that has makes me angry. That the ruling class have shown their involvement by looking the other way makes me apathetic.
That Nancy Pelosi makes Jimmy Carter look like a conservative elder statesman robs me of the hope that this country can be saved.
It may well be they killed our republic while they were at it. The power consolidation tsunami the dims are plotting will be all but impossible to stop or overcome.
I fear you may be correct. it was a world ending temper tantrum. I hope they enjoyed it.
To bad! Mommy and sis would be forced to do the crappy things men are force to do.
Hell, they are enacting a super ERA by legislation in HR5.
