Changes resulted in a significant undercount of the death toll attributed to long-term-care facility residents
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s top advisers successfully pushed state health officials to strip a public report of data showing that more nursing-home residents had died of Covid-19 than the administration had acknowledged, according to people with knowledge of the report’s production.
The July report, which examined the factors that led to the spread of the virus in nursing homes, focused only on residents who died inside long-term-care facilities, leaving out those who had died in hospitals after becoming sick in nursing homes. As a result, the report said 6,432 nursing-home residents had died—a significant undercount of the death toll attributed to the state’s most vulnerable population, the people said. The initial version of the report said nearly 10,000 nursing-home residents had died in New York by July last year, one of the people said.
The changes Mr. Cuomo’s aides and health officials made to the nursing-home report, which haven’t been previously disclosed, reveal that the state possessed a fuller accounting of out-of-facility nursing-home deaths as early as the summer. The Health Department resisted calls by state and federal lawmakers, media outlets and others to release the data for another eight months.
State officials now say more than 15,000 residents of nursing homes and other long-term-care facilities were confirmed or presumed to have died from Covid-19 since March of last year—counting both those who died in long-term-care facilities and those who died later in hospitals. That figure is about 50% higher than earlier official death tolls.

Cuomo knew most of the people who would die and suffer in those nursing homes were mostly women. This cornuto, who never had the courage to confront the man who seduced his wife or his unfaithful wife, has a thinly disguised agitated antipathy toward women.
So of course the media will only cover him wanting to get into his 23 year old staffer's panties.

Good name. Too bad most people don’t understand why a cornuto or cuckold that does nothing to redeem his honor is so loathesome. His prime sin is that his lack of courage to confront the seducer of his wife and his unfaithful wife is the effect such dishonor has on his family, his children, ultimately himself and society. Such people project their frustration and anger on others. Sons with such a father are troubled and often go bad. Daughters mimic their mothers. Such people should be marginalized or in the word of the day cancelled. They definitely should not be governors. In Italian culture a cornuto must “cut out the problem” for the good of all to redeem his honor and achieve some self respect.
Maybe he can get Fredo to do it.. I can't wait for the CNN wall to wall coverage of his impeachment. I know, but I'm waiting...I'm waiting.

A regular nursing home ‘bed’ in NY City runs $250 to $450 a day.
A high-intensity ICU bed with all the ‘extras’ runs a minimum of $4k a day, and on up to $10k.
These operators of the nursing homes realized the profit difference, and with the letter from the governor...they could bring in a thousand-odd people with Covid-19, and make $4-million extra per day. Thirty days? $120-million.
Five states that were doing this? That’s 600-million per month as a minimum.
So, how did the nursing home operators that got into this deal...pay the governors back? That’s the real question you should ask...in the middle of an election year.
