Gov. Ned Lamont on Thursday announced that he will soon roll out an expansive reopening plan for Connecticut, including allowing restaurants to operate at full capacity, loosening rules on sports and entertainment venues and lifting the travel ban.

Most of the changes will go into effect on March 19, with several more coming down the line over the following two weeks. The decision comes as President Joe Biden warns states not to move fast on reopening. Lamont said the decision was a result of Connecticut’s dropping COVID-19 metrics.

Exactly what I stated would happen. For all the “they’re going to keep us in lockdown forever!” people, let this be a lesson to you: don’t panic. No matter how much the Democrats and the media may want you to, don’t panic.

Hey,it’s “mission accomplished”.Rat Party Governors (and Trump hating RINO Governors) brought the economy to its knees and blamed Trump for unemployment *and* the deaths. That, and the massive fraud of mail in voting allowed them to steal the Presidency and both Senate seats in Georgia.

Lamont said the decision was a result of Connecticut’s dropping COVID-19 metrics.

I wonder if he looks at the actual data. Cases and deaths are higher now in CT than they were 6 months ago. Though it is on the back side of the recent curve why didn't this logic apply in July or August?

Not at all; not at this point. We may see some uptick in cases through April, but any last wave will be muted. And by July, we’ll have reached the herd immunity threshold and see a steady and inexorable decline in new cases.

Thanks to President Trump’s efforts, this thing is done this summer. Without President Trump, we’d have been in this mess for at least another year.

There’s an element of fatigue playing into these decisions as well, and economic elements too. When it’s all new and scary, it’s easy to get many people to comply. After a while, no matter how scary it was at first, people stop caring as much. Add to that the massive drops in tax revenue these governors are looking at. Add it all up and the response becomes relative rather than absolute. Are cases lower than they were recently? That suddenly becomes “good enough”.

Last March President Trump said this would all be over by April. It will be.

He knew it had to be carried on through the election so the election theft could be successful.
