I used to go to Cedar Rapids, one year, I was taking a walk on one of their bike paths that go through these immense cornfields. I had my headphones on and was listening to Pink Floyd. I suddenly heard sirens and thought at first it was part of the song I was listening to.

Then I realized that those were tornado warning sirens. The sky was very dark and purplish off to the west. I was all by myself in the middle of cornfields. No place to take shelter. Whatever it was passed off to the side of me but that was a very eerie time in my life.

Houston has good engineering. It is just that much of Houston is less than 30 feet over sea level. I live in N Houston near the airport. Our condo is 61 feet over sea level answer are 74 miles as the road runs from the Galveston Sea Wall. It is amazing that Houston’s sewers ever drain!

The county where I live (Tarrant, which includes Ft. Worth) has lifted its mask mandate immediately. My friends who live in Texas seem to be divided about 50/50, some overjoyed and the rest are horrified.

So KK,
Are you in the Utility business or an electrical engineer?

BIG amen to post #107

Attended several high school games in rural North Florida where the stadium was packed for every game. The only ones wearing masks were AA. No large outbreaks of Covid-19 were experienced.

Also, attended large Christmas Eve celebration at a huge Orlando church. Went into the place wearing a mask, but after looking around and seeing I was one of the few with one I then removed it. Never any word about people everywhere dropping dead.

Proud of DeSantis.

Real bright. You might want to know that Houston was built on a bayou. It’s essentially a city in a swamp, at sea level. It is a location issue, not an engineering issue.

You think you’re so smart. But if you don’t test people who feel fine, how are they supposed to know how sick they are? /s

I’d have him go with Texas Tech - a big city that’s not gone liberal like the other big Texas cities. We here in eastern New Mexico look to it for everything besides the university from shopping to restaurants to health care (most all of us with insurance that allows out of state treatment schedule treatment at the Covenant hospitals and clinics there). And it’s a city that still believes in people helping others with numerous churches and church sponsored schools. Very rare in todays permissive climate.

Mayor Hogg has destroyed Indianapolis - it is a ghost town. Holcomb just signed an extension on the mask order until March 31.

At any other time and place Holcomb would be a low level county bureaucrat.

I don’t praise government officials who destroy millions of lives then reverses course without so much as an apology.

Time to put the MASK MAKING BUSINESS OUT OF BUSINESS...let them feel some pain, like all the small business in this Nation has gone through...

Pray daily for this Nation that was so wonderful at one time...and YES, we miss DJT as POTUS...THIS BIDEN CHARACTER hides until his controllers feel he needs to make a brief appearance. When he does come out he is so ‘squinte’ eyed, and looks so damn old, I'm amazed he can still walk....he is AMERICAS BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER...

VOTERS NEED TO WAKE UP....AND GET THE HOUSE OUT OF GRANNY PELOSI HANDS...MARCH 26, GRANNY ROLLS OVER TO 81...Too damn old to be in Congress...jmo.. Enough said, GOOD NITE ALL.
