Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that if the Republican Party continued to “idolize” former President Donald Trump, they would lose elections.
Cassidy said, “We’ve got to win in two years. We’ve got to win in four years. If we do that, we’ll do that by speaking to those issues important to the American people, and there’s a lot of issues important to them right now, not by putting one person on a pedestal and making that one person our focal point. If we speak to those issues, to those families, to those individuals, we win. That’s where our focus should be.”
He continued, “CPAC is not the entirety of the Republican party. That’s number one. Number two, political organizations and campaigns are about winning. Over the last four years, we lost the House of Representatives, the Senate and the presidency. That has not happened in a single four years under a president since Herbert Hoover. If we plan to win in 2022 and 2024, we have to listen to the voters. Not just those who really like President Trump, but also those who perhaps are less sure. If we do, if we speak to the voters who are less sure who went from President Trump to President Biden, we win. If we don’t, we lose. That is a reality that we have to confront.”

Well then, whats the deal with those who constantly harp about him?
There is no personality cult with those who support Trump.
They see the man as a champion of the common American citizen. The first since Reagan I might add.
“whats the deal with those who constantly harp about him?”
Which ones would that be?
If 2020 stands, America has already fallen.
Good one Dawgreg...
Thanks, I call them as I see them......lol

To support the one person who actually fought for what we stand for as conservatives instead of sh***ing on their constituents like you did, Sen. Traitor, is not idolatry.
Anyway, Cassidy is actually a Democrat, who only joined the R party because he thought he’d be more likely to win as an R in Louisiana. No one on our side should ever listen to him.
Is this bobbing turd the best the LA GOP can come up with?
With enemas like him...
The one who claimed that those who support Trump are a cult of personality.
Which part of “some” did you not understand?
Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I really cannot fathom how this known election fraud can stand. It is treason and now they are making policy, sending troops to die, ruining the economy, the country. Loss for words...
Yeah, winning is everything for you phonies and your personal ambition and has nothing to do with public service or voter representation-the GOP “winning” has done absolutely nothing towards rolling back abortion, reducing government, abolishing commiecare, etc-and the GOP downright supports illegal immigration in opposition to the voters who make you win-which does nothing for said voters. President Trump showed you all up and proved action was possible on all of these, and you’ll never forgive him for showing your empty excuses to be lies.
Hey Judas. Tell Liz Cheney I said hi.
The part that you did not understand.
These people do not get it. Most people do not idolize Trump... this is what these fools do not get.
We support MAGA.. and since the GOP is absolutely useless and inept on putting America first, we will support Trump over the GOPe.
Cassidy, you’re in the wrong party. Leave NOW!
Maybe the do get it but refuse to change or step down because "they know better". The arrogant POS's....
JohnBrowdie might just be Pierre Delecto under a pseudonym .
If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck...
The part that you did not understand.
Dimwitted tu quoque - you never said "some."
Right then ghalla.
Téigh ag imirt leat féin.
