Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA): If GOP Continues to ‘Idolize’ Trump, We Will Lose
Breitbart ^ | February 28, 2021 | Pam Key

Posted on 02/28/2021 8:05:22 AM PST by White Lives Matter

Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that if the Republican Party continued to “idolize” former President Donald Trump, they would lose elections.

Cassidy said, “We’ve got to win in two years. We’ve got to win in four years. If we do that, we’ll do that by speaking to those issues important to the American people, and there’s a lot of issues important to them right now, not by putting one person on a pedestal and making that one person our focal point. If we speak to those issues, to those families, to those individuals, we win. That’s where our focus should be.”

He continued, “CPAC is not the entirety of the Republican party. That’s number one. Number two, political organizations and campaigns are about winning. Over the last four years, we lost the House of Representatives, the Senate and the presidency. That has not happened in a single four years under a president since Herbert Hoover. If we plan to win in 2022 and 2024, we have to listen to the voters. Not just those who really like President Trump, but also those who perhaps are less sure. If we do, if we speak to the voters who are less sure who went from President Trump to President Biden, we win. If we don’t, we lose. That is a reality that we have to confront.”

Senator Cassidy, what I find refreshing is that a man entered politics from the business world and said what he was going to do and did it.

Everything else is smoke and mirrors.

Enjoy your crow Étouffée.

Yes! The Louisiana GOP censured Cassidy back on February 13th for voting to impeach Trump.

So what that tells me is that Cassidy decided Trump was good enough for him to ride on Trump’s coattails, but we must do away with that scoundrel Trump once elected. Sounds just like Cocaine Mitch and Lindsey Grahamnesty.

Another useful idiot for the left. The left strokes his ego, invites him on their propaganda outlets, and he spouts forth with exactly what they want. It’s obviously a personality defect in people like these faithless Republicans that they can be so easily manipulated by the left. They haven’t yet figured out that it’s not a Trump “cult”, it’s his policies and the fact that he fights back against the forces seeking to destroy this nation.

Sure. Some are.

But the vast majority of people who voted for Trump recognize the actions of a chief executive who did his job and got many important things done even with his own people sabotaging him and his hands tied firmly behind his back.

Not to mention people who SHOULD have been supporting him, including some on this very forum, yet who were detractors from day one.

That isn’t what this POS is conveying. He is spreading the impression that the people who think Trump did a great job and would vote for him a mindless automatons who would just as soon vote for Chairman Mao as they would for Trump.

So, he is NOT “precisely right” in his painting of the conservative movement as he has. There is so much wrong with his statements that it is astonishing people even give that RINO the time of day.

some of the MAGA people are engaged in a personality cult.

Which ones would that be?

For starters, every FReeper who replied with vehemence while addressing nothing that the poster actually said - which is most of them. https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3938384/replies?c=5

"There should be a way of getting rid of dishonest Politicians like him."

Before the 17th Amendment there were ways to get rid of a nonperforming Senator...
The people (elected state politicians) who "appointed" him could fire him...

The voters said Trump, the fake ballots did not. What we really need is an MOR big tent reach across the aisle wuss like McCain, Romney, or even Dole, who believe the smoke the media shills blow up their ass until they get the nomination and get torched each and every day by those very same media shills, and no Demwit will ever vote for anyway, under any circumstances. Bill? You're a RINO jackass.
