Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that if the Republican Party continued to “idolize” former President Donald Trump, they would lose elections.
Cassidy said, “We’ve got to win in two years. We’ve got to win in four years. If we do that, we’ll do that by speaking to those issues important to the American people, and there’s a lot of issues important to them right now, not by putting one person on a pedestal and making that one person our focal point. If we speak to those issues, to those families, to those individuals, we win. That’s where our focus should be.”
He continued, “CPAC is not the entirety of the Republican party. That’s number one. Number two, political organizations and campaigns are about winning. Over the last four years, we lost the House of Representatives, the Senate and the presidency. That has not happened in a single four years under a president since Herbert Hoover. If we plan to win in 2022 and 2024, we have to listen to the voters. Not just those who really like President Trump, but also those who perhaps are less sure. If we do, if we speak to the voters who are less sure who went from President Trump to President Biden, we win. If we don’t, we lose. That is a reality that we have to confront.”

Good point. Thanks.
He’s done what they can only dream of.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He has done what they are paid not to do.
Represent the citizens.
Could not agree more. You summed up the “game” perfectly.
We are on to those SOB’s and their games.
Make America Great Again...
That sounds cultish to you?
Trump is a cult leaders, in your estimation?
Some of his followers are engaged in a personality cult?
John, who do you see out there that would be a better president
than Donald John Trump? I don’t see a single person that
has the Conservative values, the drive and perseverance
to do the things he did.
Does that make me a cult member.
To be a cult member, there has to be a cult to begin with.
Where’s the cult here John?
Are you saying our Founding Fathers were cult leaders? Are
you saying only a cultist would back our Founding Documents?
If we stand behind the Founders, the U. S. Constitution,
and other Founding Documents, does that make us a cult
member?
I’ll have to tell you, you have the right to post what you
want. We have a right to voice our thoughts also.
That ranks right down there with one of the most ill-conceived
posts I’ve seen on this forum.
I won’t say one bad word about the 74.6 million people who
stood behind Trump in November 2020.
They and I will be right behind him again in 2024, thank god.
Traitors must swing.
and who dresses that boi, blue&white stripe shirt wi green&blue polka dots??? WTF
“...Donald Trump isn’t Conservative enough for you?...”
Your answer...”I didn’t say any of that.”
OK...My question...
Is Donald Trump conservative enough for you???
I wrote him a nice letter telling him basically:
No Trump, no GOP. We will deconstruct the party if needed, and it’s looking like it’s needed.
very much so. I voted for him three times.
(No, not at once, although that may be what it would have taken)
Louisiana, please get rid of this POS......he’s stupid and unworthy. You don’t go dissing the best President we’ve had since Reagan! He’s so dumb he doesn’t realize he offended over 75 million people???
OK...From reading from your posting history, you seem not too fond of President Trump...
Louisiana was just re-elected him Nov. 2020.
Ok. So what did Trump do or not do that you disagreed with?
I like the former president very much. his strategic use of tariffs to deter tariffs was especially brilliant, and was working wonderfully right up until the virus (or, specifically, the reaction to the virus) blew the economy up.
I am not so fond of the hysterics.
that’s the opposite of what he actually said.
He’s saying Republicans are unpopular because CNN, MSNBC, etc al don’t seem to like us much and we keep losing elections in rigged municipalities.
Not a critical thinker...
No, what it means is Senator Bill Cassidy will lose. He and Liz Cheney and Flake and Romney need to start their own party...
He got reelected because we were trying to hold onto the senate, otherwise I would never have voted for him. most in Louisiana hate him and he will not get reelected. He’s not really even a native of Louisiana. On the other hand our other Senator is going great and a true patriot.
