So I put the mask cloth next to my mouth and tried to breath through it and it is very restrictive. When I have the mask on, the air is actually flowing through the sides of the mask that are open.
Yes but not enough air gets by quickly enough - so intake drops
I take a daily walk that is mostly around the neighborhoods outside the community but to get outside the community, I need to go about 300 yards to get to the gate that takes me outside. These Karen's are always out there, walking their poodles, giving me the dirty look and pushing their masks up when I approach. I just blast right by them and give them a wave.
Sure enough, an email goes to the community from the HOA along the lines of "...While masks are not required outdoors, please show courtesy to your fellow residents when walking outdoors by donning a mask when you approach..."
I know that was directed at me but I have not changed my approach whatsoever.
These things aren’t masks.
They’re muzzles.
This was NEVER about public health.
Went surf fishing on the local California beach Presidents Day. One other fellow fishing on the whole deserted beach that early morning. He was wearing a mask. Didn’t want to give a sea otter COVID I guess.
I am stunned that people will move away while I’m passing them in the parking lot...by for what 2 seconds?? And I’m not coughing or even facing them directly. We’ve become Fauci’s trained lab rats.
My thoughts exactly and the way I do things here in Free Florida.
I live in a retirement community in SC. THe mail is kept at a central location and the homeowners must go there to pick up. There is a sign on the door which says “Masks Required”
When I enter the bldg, like you I put on my mask and remove it immediately upon leaving because like you I never wear a mask unless forced to do so and never outside. Anyway earlier this week as I approached our mail room I had my hand in my jacket pocket ready to extract and put on my mask when this guy coming the other way (wearing a mask” says, “Where is your mask”? I became immediately annoyed since I wasn’t inside the mail room and instead of saying that to the guy I asked him if he was a mask Nazi. He became upset and accused me have having no respect fot others. I just smiled and went on to get my mail.
Today I went to pick up my mail and didn’t I run into the same jerk again? This time he asked again if I forgot my mask. Instead of again calling him a mask Nazi I stood straight, extended my arm in a Nazi salute and said “Jawohl”
The jerk was speechless and stood there with his mouth open.I got my mail and with a smile on my face went home. I’m still smiling.

Way back when our Ca Guv’na (i.e., Yes, I live in Ca — sigh) first came out with mask gudelines/rules the public health TWOTs published the crappola on line. Which was nice, but that does not reduce the crappola content.
I digress.
At the time I was a Nextdoor member — sort of a local version of Facebook. I found it immensely useful to inquire/comment about local goings on. E.g., “What the ‘Ell was going on with all the coppers running about yesterday?”
Well, the Karen’s immediately pounced on the word “mandatory” in the Guv’nas directive. I pointed out (with quotes from the directive) that it also listed approved exceptions, like walking about the neighborhood with an appropriate distance from strangers. Oh, my, the Karen’s could not stand that! They took it as a personal attack on them. They then got me banned — for quoting government verbiage.
I’d heard about Nextdoor’s poisonous political atmosphere (and Yes, this was political) when I joined, but discounted it. I left immediately after.
The truth will not out, when liars are in charge.
Yesterday, I attended a patriotic rally at an apple ranch in Yucaipa, Calif. Not sure of the location, I spotted a parking lot full of cars, so I drove in and parked. However, I saw that all of the people there were wearing masks, and none of the cars had flags or signs, so I figured this was the wrong location.
I got back onto the road and soon found the correct location—and it was quite a contrast. Many of the cars in the parking lot were festooned with American, Gadsden and Trump flags and not one of the attendees wore a mask.
I don’t wear one unless someone is physically telling me I can’t come in without it. Then I pull it down as soon as his back is turned.
I also wear sunglasses as much as possible inside to prevent the mask nazis from knowingly making eye contact. And a big grin.

you have more restraint than I do; this has happened to me on several occasions and my response is to angrily shout at the jackass to mind his own business, standing three inches from his face...
I know it sounds like a Gutfield segment on the Five, but there’s nothing funny about the sentiment, nor the truth behind it; I Hate These People...
The local newspaper and news channels just parrot whatever the local health professionals tell them. The morning news channel I watch has 2 news readers sitting about 6 feet apart with no masks. They read the daily case, hospitalizations, and death counts. They'll oten show a sound bite of the governor telling everyone to mask up, etc. It probably doesn't dawn on people that these news readers are in the studio for at least 2 hours with the weather reader and production crew..
You can’t get into a Doctor’s office without 1. No one factored in Heart conditions that effect breathing, glasses, or Hearing aids. I need 1 of those portable OX machines, Plus have the other 2, still same original mask, unwashed, tied to purse handle, the Surgical gloves are more important.
Gone a year not got sick, except high pitched out of frequency mic squeal setting off the Meniere’s attack. Hubby hangs his on the floor gear shift. Never been washed. He’s 80, I’m 72. Sinus worse crap this year. Hope Humidifier will help dry sinus passages and eyes.
I had a brief run with covid back when we were just starting the “2 Weeks To Flatten the Curve” a year ago, took some vitamins, went to bed, woke up fine. So, I’ve already been vaxxed. I’m Not taking their poison.
It seems as if it is a dry run exercise testing global cooperation and submission
