Houston, TX — A Houston sheriff's deputy is under investigation after video shows him pulling a gun on a driver and threatening to kill him.
The driver says traffic forced him to stop suddenly while the deputy was driving on a motorcycle behind him.
He says that angered the deputy.
“I mean, that's not something you do every day is threaten to kill somebody. If I threatened to kill somebody, I’d go to jail,” said George Dickerson, who had a gun pulled on him by a deputy. "If I held a gun to whomever and said I’m going to kill you, that's a terroristic threat."
He says he got caught up between two officers working a funeral procession Monday afternoon on the south loop.
Dickerson says the motorcycle officer in front of him slammed on their brakes, so he did the same, which forced the Harris County deputy on a motorcycle behind him to do the same.
"He said he was going to kill me because I stopped too short, and it wasn't intentional. I was doing so because of the traffic, because of the cop in front of me. You know? I'm in a work truck. I'm definitely not going to be out there being a jerk,” said Dickerson.
His work partner caught the interaction on his phone, but they didn't need the video to remember the gun pointed their direction on the south loop.
"I just didn't feel like it was right. You know, I woke up this morning, I was terrified,” said Dickerson.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office says they are aware of the video and investigation is taking place into what happened.
"I know they're not all like that. You know, there's just, there's a few while everybody else is amazing,” said Dickerson.
A good reason to have a dash cam to capture your cop encounters.
I sat in on a psych hearing for a psycho cop once-same kinda deal-threatening to kill people, joking about wanting to kill people in the locker room like he was an infantry soldier talking about the enemy, etc. he lost his badge and was trying to get it back but it didn’t happen.
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- An off-duty deputy was taken into custody after he started shooting his gun while inside his truck parked outside of his home, Houston police said.

“For Houston PD, he passed with flying colors”
I had a childhood friend who did evals for a large city back about 30 years ago. It was a nightmare. If you were connected you passed. Period. He said some of the applicants should have been in a mental institution.
In another Houston LE story, six more officers have been charged in the HPD Harding Street raid / murder. Additional charges levied against officers already involved.
I can see being startled and angry at almost getting into a collision but that Deputy needs to be relieved of duty and given a desk job.
He should not be allowed to carry a firearm on the job.
Not only that, but he'll get a paid vacation while they 'investigate'.
Did the cop get home safely that evening?
So, what axe do you have to grind with regard to Florida LEOs? I lived in Florida for 30 years, in four different
counties, in six municipalities. Not once in all those years did I ever have a negative experience with a Florida LEO. Incidents, Ice traveled extensively and have never come across a State LEOrg more pleasant or accommodating than the Florida Highway Patrol. I’m not an LEO and do not work in or with LEOs.
You stopped fast, I wasn’t paying attention, was following too close and almost ran into you, I’ll kill you!
Wow...
Yes he did and he got an extra scoop of guacamole with his enchiladas.
The police are very rude there. For no reason. They are very rude in Lake Jackson, too. They stop you for a burned out headlight. OK you didn’t know you had it. Thanks, will get it fixed right away! Cop acted like we were out to rape, rob & kill. So rude and hateful. And about 1/4 our age. No respect for their elders. So we have no respect for them. never met a polite cop.
“A good reason to have a dash cam to capture your cop encounters.”
Not sure that is legal in all states. But it should be.
The right to record cops in public is a First Amendment protected activity.
Charged first and investigated later. The same process afforded the rest of us.
Oops, I forget we’re the Great Unwashed and he’s a “cop”.
I’m fed up with this sh1t. Cops are better than we are because...they are cops. Teachers are better than we are because...they are teachers. Elected officials are better than we are because...they are elected officials.
By “better than” I mean they are superior humans and it is horribly wrong for them to be subjected to the same rules as the rest of us proles.
Anyone see a pattern here?
I live in the Houston area and have since I was young. Houston cops have always had a bad reputation, but this was a Harris county deputy.
Telling a motorist that he’z going to kill him over a traffic incident is way over the top.
This cop needs not be a cop...at all.
>>When they’re working a funeral procession, they’re private hired security, and can be charged for assault just like ordinary folks. Should be charged for assault, at the very least be fired.<<
Well, yes and no. He is a licensed peace officer in the state of Texas on or off duty. Threatening to kill a motorist over a traffic altercation is over the top.
BECAUSE there is a video, he will be fired. I’ve had a run in or two with rogue Harris co. deputies over my life time. I can say...the majority are decent people, but there are a few that think that badge and gun entitles them to bully the $4!7 out of citizens.
You unholster that weapon with the intent to intimidate over a non life threatening traffic altercation...you’re a criminal. It it were you or I...we’d be in jail.
