Jens Stoltenberg, who serves as Secretary General for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), has announced that the troop total in Iraq will be increasing massively in the upcoming years.
Stoltenberg announced earlier this week that 4,000 troops will eventually be deployed to Iraq, an eight-fold increase from the current total of 500. They are expanding the footprint in the Middle Eastern nation under the guise of supporting “Iraqi forces as they fight terrorism and ensure that ISIS does not return.”
“Increases in troop numbers will be incremental,” he said.
NATO is also working on increasing tensions with Afghanistan in order to extend what is already the longest conflict in U.S. history. They are not committing to a May 1 withdrawal timeline, a peace deal that was negotiated by the Trump administration, as the military-industrial complex reclaims power in the Biden regime.
