Multiple attempts by Chinese coastguard vessels to approach Japanese vessels in the East China Sea represent Beijing’s intensifying efforts to assert its sovereignty over the disputed Diaoyu Islands, known as the Senkakus in Japan, analysts said on Monday. The latest incidents happened on Saturday and Sunday, when Japan’s coastguard said two Chinese coastguard vessels had repeatedly entered Japan’s territorial waters and had made moves to approach a Japanese fishing boat carrying three passengers near the islands, which are under the administrative control of Japan. A Japanese patrol vessel deployed around the fishing boat to ensure its safety warned the Chinese ships to leave Japanese territory, Japan’s coastguard said. Two other Chinese vessels were also spotted cruising in the so-called contiguous zone just outside Japan’s territorial waters. One of them appeared to be armed with an autocannon, the coastguard said.

“The Eastern World, it is explodin’...”
China may instigate something with a nation that will kick the
snot out of it, before we have to.
Would be interesting to see how Japan reacts to an attack
on Taiwan.
Other nations might want a part of that action as well.
I am sure Biden has plan. /s
Good point. Isn’t it true that the Japs actually have a very capable nav - uh, “Maritime Self-Defense Force”?
The Chinese might do well to think twice...
At least that’s what I’ve heard.
Didn’t the Chinese learn not to mess with the Japanese a long time ago?
Not our problem.
The Japanese Navy would hand them their ass.
Japan has a formidable navy.
Oh, yeah. Do NOT mess with the JMSDF. Compared to them the Chinese are still paddling in the kiddie pool.
Don’t deny. We created a monster. Clinton/Loral. Then there’s W/trade deals. ho’s responsible for MFN status? Can we un do it. It will take cooperation with the ASEAN nations. P.I. as a little one.
I think the Japanese should take the first shot. Ship to ship. Then see the reaction. Do you think the Chicoms want to test our commitment under those conditions? Biden could say we’ll do nothing until after Taiwan responds.
The Chinese did quite well against the Japanese in the Second Sino-Japanese War (1937–1945). The Chinese were tenacious, and determined. No surrender monkeys there. But that was a great land struggle. If there is a Third Sino-Japanese War, it will of course be fought on the water. Who knows what will happen in that case?
Clinton/Loral. I could not believe what happened then.
Ping
Thanks for that.
But the end has yet to come.
I’m not sure to be honest.
I don’t think they are slouches.
Your thoughts may very well be right on the money.
I can’t say for sure thought. Hopefully someone that knows
the facts can enlighten us.
