The Republican base wants Winston Churchill, faults and all, not Neville Chamberlain. There was no guarantee that Churchill would defeat the Third Reich. But it was a sure bet Chamberlain wouldn’t even try. They want General Ulysses Grant, accused of being a drunk, not the dapper, preening General George B. McClellan who amassed a great army but wouldn’t attack the Confederacy. The first Republican President Abraham Lincoln sided with the dishevelled General Grant with whiskey on his breath over the vain, do-nothing, respectable General McClellan.
The Republican base wants candidates with fire in their belly. Show me what you’re willing to fight for. Democrats fight like hell. Republicans cower in fear. Apparently they don’t really believe what they believe in.
So Republicans were mad as a volcano when Mitt Romney allowed Barack Obama to roll all over him. The conservative base was ready to turn its back on insiders many years before Trump rode down the escalator to announce his candidacy in 2015. This is not about crossing Trump. It’s about being fed up with those who won’t even try. And the voters are never, ever going back.
But establishment Republicans have perfected the art of pretending to be conservative when they are really not. Therefore, the conservative base is searching for a “tell.” Are you a fighter? Or are you a wimp?

Shes never had to deal with a principled leader before that holds his constituents higher than his party.

Bye bye Nikki Haley. You had potential but now your political career is done. You took bad advice from your spin doctor (if you have one).
Let me in, said the snake!

The Indian bimbo obviously didn’t read any of PDJT’s books. The subject of loyalty is YUGE.

Actually Grant had a physical aversion to alcohol. A little bit of it made him sick.

The smartest thing she could have done was not say a word about what she believed.

I would have loved to see her in Congress. I don’t she had what it took to be President, but she would have been a good senator, if she had kept her mouth shut.

She never respected Trump. She was a never-Trumper before he got the nomination.
She wants to be president real bad...not going to happen.

Well said.
Very well said.

Nimrata would have been right there to stick a knife between America’s shoulder blades when Collins, Murkowski, Romney or their ilk was otherwise occupied.

For the life of me, I never understood why anyone with an ounce of intelligence and conservative principles ever thought this misfit was even a minimally credible presidential candidate, let alone a "frontrunner" of any kind. Even Stevie Wonder could see that she was a transparently awful candidate.
It would have been bad enough if Haley was just an establishment Republican hack. What made it far worse was that she combined the disingenuous fakery of the GOP establishment with the brazenly lying, two-faced dishonesty that is apparently endemic in Hindu culture. If Nikki Haley had been a man, she never would have gotten anywhere in politics. Instead, she'd be running a convenience store in Los Angeles or scamming elderly American retirees out of their savings from a call center in New Delhi.
Good riddance to this putrid sh!tbag.
