Warm snow. Isn’t that what they call an oxymoron? :-)
I do understand what you’re talking about though. When it snowed here Wed. night, I was pretty comfortable while walking around and enjoyed it.

Bet you’re grateful for that. We sure are. That has been just awful for them.
TN had ice, snow, and power outages but nothing as widespread and long-lasting as TX.

I have family in the Brentwood area and it has been a cold winter for them.
The worst leg of my trip last weekend was at the NC/VA border north of Winston-Salem. Trees were coming down all over.
It was the heart of an ice storm. I drove around at least 10 and actually underneath one with a ft of clearance.
I watched the trees more than the road. They had an inch of ice on the branches and the pines couldn’t take it.
It is my understanding that a tree snap has no delay or warning.

Yes, it was pretty nasty up around Nashville and the surrounding area. My step-bother and his wife live in Franklin and weren’t able to leave their house due to a very slippery driveway.
Yikes! I saw some of that ice storm you drove through while watching storm chasers. A “fun” drive you had. Glad you were able to get through it safely. You understand correctly that when ice takes down a tree limb, it’s in an instant. Ice storms are the worst. Give me 5 feet of snow over ANY ice.
At least you should have a nicer drive back since it’s warming up a bit now.
