On CBS’s Magnum PI (S3 E8 February 12 2021), a twelve-year-old steals his father’s gun from a bedside table and accidentally shoots his ten-year-old brother. The message is parents should be afraid of guns in the home even if the parent is at home. But this again greatly exaggerates the dangers of guns in the home. In 2019, there were 37 accidental gun deaths for children under eleven years of age. Past research has shown that most of those involve shots from adult males, most in the mid to late 20s, who also have criminal records and are very likely to be drug addicts or alcoholics. So with 43.8 million children in that age range, the probability of a young child getting ahold of a gun and accidentally shooting another child is incredibly small. With half of American homes owning guns, that implies a probability of a child dying from an accidental gun shot in those homes of 0.00017%. If you try to look at the rate that a child gets a hold of a gun and accidentally shoots another child, you are talking about 0.000068%.

At least CBS has canceled the wokiest of the NCIS series;NOLA. A mediocre show from its beginnings. A truly awful show for the last 3 years.
Never tell me the odds - Han Solo. He was still killed by his son accidentally so does that count? Oops, dad.
Just like 1968, after Bobby Kennedy was murdered by a Palestinian Immigrant and the news media along with TV shows went into an anti-gun hysteria fit.
All TV shows after that had anti-gun scripts constantly hammering away at the right to own firearms. Handguns were the main target at that time.
Did the same thing with smoking back in the day.
Magnum PI ended on May 1, 1988. This re-booted drivel starring a twink in the iconic role isn’t even worthy of being a chew toy for The Lads.
Having a television in your home is far more dangerous then any weapon you may have. The weapon remains quite and does not attempt to transform you. They television works 24x7 to make you believe 2+2=5.
The Kennedy killing of 1968 and MLK assassination that year solidified the passage of the fire arms control act of 1968 sponsored by Sen. Thomas Dodd. My dad said he believed and Thomas Dodd got the basics for the act from the German gun laws as Dodd was a military lawyer (LT) during the Nuremberg trials.

Well look at you promoting the same source all this time!
Does your blog pay for all this free advertisement?
Personally, I think you are a trashy freeloader.
Got anything to say about that?
Magnum PI!? Have I entered a time warp?
Is there a re-boot of the old show? WHO watches these crap shows?
Is Magnum a GAY Black man now?
They have Television shows still??
Yeah Right! Criminals (famous for breaking laws) will suddenly turn in all their guns to FBI as soon as 2nd amendment is abolished.
As I recall, young children shooting another child by accident is so rare it doesn’t always happen in a given year.
NCIS LA is not very good either. And the original has long since jumped the shark.
Now, we had a psychological need for such firearms late last year due to violence picking up steam near my former residence. My wife placed my revolver in a place for her use if needed.
We discovered my revolver is too heavy for her i.e. the physical weight was too much.
We bought a 9mm automatic for her use...at her request.
We also moved. In the new home, we surmised it was better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
Ya got me.
Back before the days of “guns are scary bad”, I didn’t know anyone who shot their younger sibling with daddy’s gun.
A classmate died in a car accident - ban cars!
Another hanged himself - ban ropes and trees!
There was one guy who shot himself but that was intentional with his own gun.
Tremendous increases in violent crime and homicide from gun violence... is directly due to... Democrat law enforcement policies, or the lack thereof. This is literally a call for crime to destroy what is left of Blue cities and states. Why would they do that? Perhaps, that is what they want.
“CBS Television Show Again Pushing The Supposed Dangers Of Guns In The Home”
I’m certainly glad that guns in the home are more dangerous than illegal guns on the streets of the big Democratically controlled cites and those in the hands of MS13 gangs.
