Back in 2008 we had a huge ice storm in Cape Girardeau. No electricity for 5 days. Strangely neither U.S. Senator, nor our Representative, nor for that matter any elected official called to ask if I needed anything.
That’s strange. Most of the time politicians are on top of things during an emergency. Only a few times did politicians fail. New Orleans and Texas.
And did you start crying that no mommy politician called?
This is really sickening to see so many so emotionally attached and effected that Cruz was a meanie and didn’t appear to care, instead caring for his own family.
This is why the country is doomed. So many, so emotionally dependent on the idea that big nanny government must always “DO SOMETHING”.
Reagan was right, the nine most terrifying words in the English language: “I’m from the government, and I’m here to help.”
Cape Girardeau is about 500 miles north of Houston and more than 800 miles north of Brownsville. The buildings in Cape Girardeau are probably built with far more insulation than those in a southern state.
