How would his presence in Texas made anything better? He’s a Senator, not the Governor or any other state official. Should he have been out there supervising the restoration of electricity, the thawing of windmills? This is stupid. Yes it looks bad, but the whole thing is stupid.
Looks are everything to a lot of the electorate. This smells a lot like “Let them eat cake!” to many of them.
He can’t call his constituents to see if they need anything? That’s the responsible thing.
