Update: President Trump released an official statement on Limbaugh's passing.
"The great Rush Limbaugh has passed away to a better place, free from physical pain and hostility," Trump said. "His honor, courage, strength, and loyalty will never be replaced. Rush was a patriot, a defender of Liberty, and someone who believed in all of the greatness our Country stands for. Rush was a friend to myself and millions of Americans—a guiding light with the ability to see the truth and paint vivid pictures over the airwaves. Melania and I express our deepest condolences to his wonderful wife, Kathryn, his family, and all of his dedicated fans. He will be missed greatly."

The conservative movement lost one of its heroes on Wednesday as Rush Limbaugh lost his battle with advanced lung cancer. His wife, Kathryn, made the announcement on his radio show. President Trump called in live during Fox News's coverage of the breaking news to reflect on his friendship with the legendary radio host.
Trump explained that the two developed a friendship after Limbaugh told him he liked the "rather controversial" speech he gave in 2015 after coming down the escalator in Trump Tower to announce he'd be running for president.
"He was a unique guy, and he became a friend of mine...he was with me right from the beginning," Trump said of Limbaugh. "He was just a great gentleman. A great man."
And from then on, Limbaugh carried his message. After his win against Hillary Clinton, Trump says he called Limbaugh "just to thank him" and from there they developed "a very good friendship."
Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer noted that the two men don't exactly seem like two personalities that would mix.
"I like people that some people wouldn't think I like," Trump noted.
"He loved this country," Trump said, later adding that Limbaugh was "irreplaceable" and "a man of the future."
At his last State of the Union speech in February 2020, Trump surprised Limbaugh by awarding him the Presidential Medal of Freedom. First lady Melania Trump, who was sitting next to Limbaugh, placed the medal on him herself. Limbaugh was visibly emotional from the gesture.

"It was something special, it was an incredible night," Trump recalled on Wednesday.
Mark is great but for old timers like me, I find him hard to understand, his voice just isn't Rush. I was with Rush from the very beginning and subscribed to his web cam on day one, but I doubt I will stay with the show no matter who sets in. Most here haven't even considered his younger brother, guess we will have to wait on the reading of Rush's will. I am sure he made arrangements with someone plus his sponsors will have some say as well.
A Trump-led EIB radio, web and TV network would be a great idea. And a fitting tribute to El Rushbo. I know I’d damn sure tune in.
God bless Rush, miss him already. Have been a loyal dittohead since 95. This sucks
That’s the point.. he is the only pole holding up that tent. But, he has a quick wit and the intellectual depth to carry a load similar to Rush.. My mom was getting so depressed watching FOX. I just did everything I could to find a way for her to turn it off.. lots of good alternatives out there though.. Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube did us a huge favor by making it necessary for the Conservative voices to find another place. It has caused the building of a thousand ships to replace the single boats these folks offered.
I agree, I think Bo would be a great host
Trump should buy the EIB network and it could be the start of a conservative media empire.
Jeff Kuhner...
It won't happen.
He wrote the book of how to do conservative talk radio and in essence talk radio as well. No one can capture all that, believe me I tried for 25 years, never even got close!
He will leave a legacy of how, what, where and when to do certain things on the air. He was the consummate professional and those looking for answers need only think:
now what would Rush do.
Tucker could be good on radio he could also expand his audience as well. Might not be a bad idea.
As part of the interview, PDJT left absolutely no doubt that he is still convinced that the election was stolen, and further, that much of the country is furious because of that.
I was so glad to hear him say that.
If Joe Biden still had a functioning brain cell, he would acknowledge that the evidence is there to at least warrant a major investigation into possible voter fraud in 2020, because just letting it sit as is makes him an illegitimate president in the eyes of half the country, if not more than half.
It would seem to be in his own interest, but since he’s just a different variety of brain-dead Democrat, I’m not expecting much.
Agree.
Mark Steyn is the obvious choice. As he himself would agree, he couldn’t replace Rush. But he has been (IMO of course) the best sub host.
And also agree about having DJT on every so often.
