Grew up with WLS. They played rock when I was a kid and was surprised to find when I was back in northern Indiana in the 90’s they went to conservative talk (and so did I.)

I like Chris but his style is very different. He doesn’t have “the harmless, loveable, little fuzz ball” quality that Rush had. (It really saddens me to even have to type “had”)

I know Mike Rowe “leans” conservative (seen him on a few conservatives talk shows.) I don’t know if he would be interested in a conservative talk radio program but I would love to listen to his voice 3 hours a day.

Enjoy his podcasts. “The Way I Heard It.”

Wonderful post, and much like my own story. I was on a ladder, painting a wall, when he made his announcement. I came down and listened and was in shock. But, over the year, he was on the air so much, and so often it was just business as usual, and I came to believe he would be OK.

But he wouldn't, and I can hardly believe it. I do think of his suffering and deteriorating toward the end, too, even though I try not to. I suppose remembering the good times will be possible eventually, but, man, I'd rather be listening to him - live - until he was old and weak just naturally with the long, long passage of time.

Chris is more like as “harmless, loveable little porcupine.” ;)

Rush had a sense of timing that always seemed inhuman. I suppose it comes from his years of honing that skill but listening to his 20-something “Jeff Christy” oldies spots he seemed to have been born with it (something Bannon could definitely use some practice on). Perhaps Tony Snow had that too...Steyn and Mike Rowe are two that come to mind now. Both witty and have the timing down. One element that drew and cemented Limbaugh’s audience, as he described it, was the two years he spent building it through public appearances every weekend and his TV show. Even after listening since 1988, I still have yet to figure out how he made the time to learn and retain so much information....any subject and he was able to reflect on an aspect even the experts had not considered. I love Levin (don’t care much for Hannity), but Rush fan till I die. Amazing talent, and an amazing human being.

Rush never supported anybody’s presidential campaign.
His whole premise was that if they didn’t build you they can’t tear you down.

Biden didn’t need to campaign because he had ABC, NBC, CBS the New York Times and the Washington Post campaigning for him. They built him up. They can tear him down.

Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump communicated directly to the people.

Just like Rush.

That is an unbreakable bond that the media cannot break.

Rush singularly enlightened the darkness, affirming we weren’t alone in this the greatest Nation in world history. We are not crazy

I think what we have to do is try and do what Rush did best. Explain the complex to Americans seeking truth. When we learn that the election was basically stolen by electronic hackers in Germany and Rome we need to expose it so everyone is on board.
Same for other topics of import. Bring it down to levels of understanding for millions of Americans all seeking the truth.

I saw Jim on Hannity (he’s James Golden aka Snerdly) like many of us he was overwhelmed by emotion.Losing Rush is a huge loss that can never be replaced,we all know it.

It was less that five minutes but snerdly handled it well even went out on his own as he heard the altro. Hannity has the toughest job in the world and he knows what is coming up as well.
He’s the only one with numbers as big as Rushs were so he can see the handwriting on the screen.

Rush knew what he wanted since he was eight years old,few have such longing desires at that age.
Everyone else on the radio took their lead from someone else. Rush was the creator of modern conservative talk radio. He made it up, used it, tweaked it, and than honed his radio skills so well that he could do radio at the highest of levels without hearing a sound. I could not imagine doing talk radio if I was deaf. For Those who have never done three hours behind a mike, it's an experience. No one knew the process as well as Rush did.

I’m still shocked at how much this is hurting.

It’s like a huge vacuum in my life. Heard his voice yesterday playing somewhere when I was out and it brought great comfort to me, like hearing my dad’s voice over old VCR tapes.

I love Mark Steyn on his show.

Listening to him increases your IQ.

Even if they only had him once a week like Mark Steyn Monday

He is not “dead”. Everything he said for 30 years is still online and available for all to hear.
