Former White House strategist Steve Bannon told a group of Boston Republicans that former President Donald Trump will come roaring back in 2024, suggesting he may first be elected to Congress, displace Nancy Pelosi as speaker and launch impeachment proceedings against President Biden.
“Going forward, we can transform the Republican Party into more of a MAGA movement … just immerse the (Make America Great Again) movement with the Republican Party, and we’re going to have massive victories in the future,” Bannon said in a Lincoln Day Breakfast speech.
During his talk to the West Roxbury Ward 20 Republican Committee on Saturday, the same day Trump was acquitted by the Senate in his impeachment trial, Bannon even floated the idea of Trump becoming speaker of the House in 2022 and impeaching President Biden.
“Trump is a disruptor, but he has a long-term vision because I absolutely believe in the marrow of my bones that he will be our nominee in 2024,” Bannon later added. “He’ll come back to us. We’ll have a sweeping victory in 2022, and he’ll lead us in 2024.”
Bannon, who promoted the unsubstantiated allegations of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election and claimed that Trump won, said his strategy is for Trump to run for Congress in 2022 and say he’s running for speaker of the House.
“We totally get rid of Nancy Pelosi, and the first act of President Trump as speaker will be to impeach Joe Biden for his illegitimate activities of stealing the presidency,” Bannon said, leading to applause and hollers from the Boston Republicans.
Bannon told the crowd that they “need to confront this radical Biden administration every day.”
Politics should no longer be thought of as Republicans versus Democrats, he stressed during his talk.
“It’s between populists, nationalists, traditionalists versus these kind of globalists, elites, secular radicals,” Bannon said, adding, “This is what I think the future of this movement is … . We’re going to have a big aspect of disaffected Democrats that start to come over.”
Lou Murray, the chair of the West Roxbury Ward 20 Republican Committee, also said that “more traditionally minded Democrats” will leave the party because of the “radicalism” of Biden’s administration.
“I 100% agree with that,” Murray said, later adding, “The Trump brand isn’t over. The MAGA, America First message of Donald Trump is extremely popular, and that message will keep being extremely popular.”
Bannon was among the scores of people who were pardoned at the 11th hour by Trump. The former strategist was one of four charged in an alleged scheme to divert fundraising tied to the southern border wall.
The organizers of the “We Build The Wall” group portrayed themselves as eager to help the president build a “big beautiful” barrier along the U.S.-Mexico border, as he promised during the 2016 campaign. They raised more than $25 million from thousands of donors and pledged that 100% of the money would be used for the project.
But according to the criminal charges, much of the money never made it to the wall. Instead, it was allegedly used to line the pockets of group members, including Bannon.
Herald wire services were used in this report.
Um, I think something’s gotta get done about that pesky voting system issue the USA is having first...
He can run in any red district wants in Fla and won in a walk...the GOP then opens hearings into Biden’s Ukraine quid pro quo and Harris bailing out rioters.... to keep Trump from challenging him for speaker McCarthy appoints trump head of the intelligence committee and he gets subpoena power...brilliant
Mitch and the boys have other ideas.....
Donald John Trump run for Congress to be one of many and be ruled by whichever snake is leader?
I don’t see that at all.
For this to really work, Mr. Trump needs to be speaker, and there needs to be at least 67 Trump senators in the senate, then impeach Biden/Harris and convict for their many very real crimes. Mr. Trump, the lawfully elected president, takes the white house back, and Mr. McCarthy gets his speakership back.
I know I’m dreaming but the real votes are there to make this happen, the problem is the fraud.
At this point, they need to impeach, imprison, and reeducate, or execute (requires a legal trial and sentence, thus I am not advocating violence) every democrat in congress, period.
Me neither. Trump is a CEO Boss, not a mid-level manager.
it was not Bannon’s idea. It was @DC_Draino but it sounds good to me. Be speaker of the house 2022.
BOOM.
I hereby sentence you to 30 lashes with a wet noodle for not reading the article. :p
The Dems have 4 years to figure out how to stop this and the first on the agenda is probably the way they won the last election. Cheating.
That would be funny:
Speaker Donald Trump after 2022, and impeach remove Biden/Harris in the first week of the new Congress.
Totally unrealistic, but still worth a smile.
Side note: If even one Senator from a state with a GOP governor drops, we retake the Senate as soon as a replacement is named. As one example, Patrick Leahy (D-VT, age 80) has a GOP governor
“Side note: If even one Senator from a state with a GOP governor drops, we retake the Senate as soon as a replacement is named.”
Yeah but who’s “we”?
OK OK...I’ll go back and read the whole thing. My bad. LOL
Wow that sounds awful.
Yep. Plus Trump doesn’t need to be in Congress. Hard to tell what team Bannon’s on sometimes, as he seems to have played both sides at different points in recent years.
Well...I still don’t see that happening but I do think DJT isn’t just going to play golf - he’ll have a big influence in upcoming elections. They’re still trying to find a way to throw him in prison so this will definitely be a roller coaster.
Apparently DJT will have to battle Mitch and all those who fund him. We’ll see if 75 million plus come through for MAGA.
“unsubstantiated allegations of widespread voter fraud”
It’s substantiated. The author of this article just has to keep pushing the same old narrative.
Damn, that didn’t take long.. I posted this exact idea about 8 hours ago.. thinking it was a hoot.. now.. I found out.. eh.. not my idea at all.
