McConnell and the GOP elites (GOPe) worked against President Trump for years preventing him from passing his wildly popular agenda to protect America, its workers, and its citizens.
McConnell did not hold back as he ripped Trump apart for a “disgraceful dereliction of duty” and attempting to “overturn the election.”
He claimed that the protesters stormed the Capitol because they had been “fed wild falsehoods by the most powerful man on earth,” and that Trump was “practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day.”
And then Mitch McConnell suggested that President Trump can still be charged in the criminal justice system!
The Dems who also try to prevent President Trump from running again in 2024 came with another plan that would only need a simple majority to succeed.

Chickenshit McConnel can’t ever go back to his home state of KY.
He not only through Trump under the bus and keeps on stomping in him, he through the 60% of Kentuckians that voted for him. Stat tuned about this Judas SOB. He will be censored by the KY GOP and kicked off his position as House Minority Leader.

If Congress tried to pass a law that makes President Trump guilty of insurrection on January 5, wouldn't that be an unconstitutional ex post facto law?
Wouldn't Congress have to pass a law defining insurrection or rebellion under the 14th amendment PRIOR to someone engaging in that act, in order for it to be Constitutional?
I don't see how Congress can do anything to find Trump guilty under the 14th amendment without other enforcement laws already on the books.

I said he has a different plan than running for President, that’s all. I actually listen to what Trump says rather than put my own wishes into his words.
Doesn’t stop Trump from participating in America First activities. We still have the right to peacefully assemble. Trust me, none of us want to set foot in corrupt DC. We will fight at the state and local levels. Our voices WILL be heard.

I’ve been listening to Trump since long before he ran for President and I still listen. You’re just claiming he’ll do what YOU want. Trump does what HE wants, I suggest you listen to him more carefully.

Democrats can't just point to the 14th amendment because it is too vague in defining exactly what constitutes insurrection or rebellion and how it is to be enforced.
Any legislation that Congress now passes to do so would be ex post facto to January 6th, and there can't be used against President Trump.
Congress is stuck.

McConnell has previously helped the Democrats defeat conservatives in Senate races in IN, MO, AL, DE, NV, so this is nothing new.

Don’t trust the Courts. They will rubber stamp anything these Stalinists put before them. The Chinese have the goods on all of them.
Whose court? What court? Traffic Court. Tennis Court. Certainly not one of America's, well known for their unbiased justice, courts.
The article is wrong. It is unconstitutional to punish someone with legislation.
He is Senate Minority Leader and will be for the rest of his term, he presents the majority view of GOP Senators.
