Fox News has canceled “Lou Dobbs Tonight,” the program hosted by television’s staunchest supporter of Donald Trump and of his assertions of voter fraud in the 2020 election, The Times has learned.
Dobbs’ program, which airs twice nightly at 5 and 7 p.m. Eastern on the Fox Business Network, will have its final airing Friday, according to a Fox News representative who confirmed the cancellation. Starting next week, the program will be called “Fox Business Tonight,” with rotating substitute hosts Jackie DeAngelis and David Asman, who filled in for Dobbs on Friday.

To start a network requires billions. Right now Mr. Trump’s empire is shaky at best. Rents are low, properties are on the block, and hundreds of millions personally pledged are coming due. In addition, what mainstream advertisers would buy time?
Network boards and those financing Fox will determine who stays and leaves. Willing and otherwise. It looks like they’re definitely distancing from Trump but like other networks having difficulty doing so. Dobb’s was totally in Trumps court and being older I don’t think he was willing to carry the water they wanted him to. He left on a high note for sure. Hannity and the rest will linger on and do what they need to to stay employed until there’s a better alternative.
