A 28-year-old Tennessee man has been arrested and charged for creating a “disrespectful Photoshopped image.” He is accused of manipulating a photograph of a deceased officer’s grave and posting it on social media.
Joshua Andrew Garton was arrested and charged with one count of harassment after he reportedly Photoshopped a fake photo that depicted two people desecrating the grave of deceased officer Sergeant Daniel Baker. Baker was killed in the line of duty in 2018.
According to NBC News, the image apparently depicted two men urinating on the grave, with the accompanying text reading, “Just showing my respect to deputy Daniel Baker.” . . . .
The Tenessee Bureau of Investigation apparently was alerted to the photo and subsequently visited the gravesite where they determined the image had been faked. . . . Agents subsequently visited Baker’s gravesite this morning and determined the photograph was digitally manufactured. Further investigative efforts led to the identification of Joshua Andrew Garton as the individual who manufactured the image and distributed it on social media.”

The slap to the punk’s wrist for harassment won’t be a big deal. Don’t know about the “other, unrelated legal issues” mentioned in the article.
It was illegal. 1st amendment. The guy they arrested had ZERO to do with posting the Tweet with Officer Baker’s name on it. He created the image twelve years ago in 2009 for a rap music single called "P*ssing On Your Grave" which shows two guys urinating on a grave that is NOT officer Baker’s headstone. Some Tweeting idiot found an image of that CD cover on Google, put a picture of Baker on it, and Tweeted essentially "Paying my respects to Officer Baker..." and pasted that picture with it. The guy who created it, and got arrested, had nothing to do with that insulting posting. But, even that offensive post is a first amendment protected act.
Soon it will be illegal to post the real pictures of Chomo Joe groping little girls and Hunter, the smartest man ever, with his, rather young, Chinese prostitutes.
I won’t post the picture, but for those who are curious, here is the raw image that was used:
It’s punk vocalist G.G. Allin’s grave.
So you think some artist who made an image years ago should be arrested and charged with a crime because somebody used his picture years later???

This is truly Kafkaesque.
Whether it was ‘legal’ or not, what a low class and embarrassing thing for a man near 30 years old to get in trouble for. This is what an 11 y/o would do during Halloween Week.
Now, when somebody Googles his name, that ‘mishap’ will be coming straight to the top of the page.
I despise him for doing it but this arrest is BS. If we go along with this, all of us are subject to arrest.
Guy they arrested just the the f’n Civil Rights jackpot if he gets the right attorney. Nobody in the county gonna be left unscathed by the time that case gets wrapped up.
I detest the Twitter meme, and even the original album art is in poor taste, but everyone from the arresting officers to the f’n D.A. DESPERATELY needs to get their Net Worth HEARTILY SAVAGED over this egregious miscarriage of justice.
Leave every f’n one of them destitute, and run the story “wall to wall” and nationwide to drive the point home SOLIDLY.
CONSTITUTION GOT ZERO ROOM FOR THIS!
I don't see how a Photoshopped image can be disrespectful and, thus, be illegal.
I saw one of Bernie being eaten by a snake ... chair on the ground next to him.
[[A 28-year-old Tennessee man has been arrested and charged for creating a “disrespectful Photoshopped image.”]]
Hmmm- will the vile creator of the ‘piss Christ’ be arrested too for creating a ‘disrespectful portrayal of Christ’?
[[The District Attorney needs a good talking to about Freedom of Speech. He also needs to be sued into oblivion and disbarred. These people are more dangerous then the criminals they prosecute.]]
Bingo! Exactly- they are the real criminals here-
1st amendment?
“I don’t see how a Photoshopped image can be disrespectful and, thus, be illegal.”
So if it were disrepectful it would be illegal?
Before the dark times Before the Empire
He’ll cry about it all the way to the bank.
What were the other issues re this man’s arrest that required a $76,000 bail?
Much more to this story than is presented here.
