Dems would win every election in the country as if unopposed. It’s confusing why so many can’t see that blatant fact.
The really funny thing is that people actually believe that future elections won't be stolen as easily as the last one was. A Patriot Party would, of necessity, have to position itself as the party of everyone not in DC. Part of its platform would, again of necessity, be the restoration of free and fair elections.

Hojczyk, I hope you don't mind my posting this on your thread. (I posted it on another thread yesterday) It bears directly on the remark by Jan_Sobieski, which is important and relevant.
Any thinking person understands the downside of a third party candidate: You will end up having two candidates chasing the same number of votes, while very little changes for the other side, whose vote pool will stay the same.
Easy.
Thing is, Conservatives are on the horns of a dilemma.
- On one horn of the dilemma is the standard handicap of a Conservative third party: It is a sure loser unless they totally dissolve the Republican Party. Not happening. Even if 90% of the current Republicans were to join the new party, it would still be a loser. With elections commonly being decided by far less than 10%, even if 90% joined the new party, the margin of victory would only be even. So, we aren't going to win there.
- On the other horn of the dilemma is the extreme and justified anger of Conservatives who have seen that participating in the electoral process is not only meaningless, it compounds the insult by reinforcing the legitimacy of a totally corrupt electoral process which is something a large number of Conservatives are loathe to do.
- Add to that the completely disgusting behavior of Republicans who, when not actually helping perpetrate and cheering on this fraudulent, screaming, dog's breakfast of an election, sat on their damned hands and put duct tape over their mouths instead of speaking up when it counted.
- And the combination of those two insults have inflicted a deep and grievous wound on the some of the most dedicated conservatives out there, who are resolved not to vote in a farcical electoral process, or are not going to vote for a Republican.
- The comment by Jan_Sobieski at post #4 is illustrative of this issue, and it is critically important. It isn't just talk, and we see and hear a lot of it. And we need to take that into account. We can deny it, we can exclaim "Don't say it!" and we can rightfully say it will not work. But it is a fact. I live in a blue state, where voting for a candidate other than a non-Democrat President is a completely pointless vote, and I get to speak to solid conservatives who say they will not vote for a Republican again, and it is the vast majority. And on Free Republic, we have a lot of people who say it. And I don't have a doubt they mean it.
- Meaning at a minimum, 30% of conservatives are going to refuse to vote for one or both of those reasons above. And that spells electoral defeat no matter what.
What this boils down to is, whichever horn we take, we get gored electorally. We lose.
Granted, when confronted by the horns of a dilemma, there is always a third choice.
You can try to go between the horns and ride it out. In this case, that means just continuing on as if the electoral process was not completely and totally broken at worst, or at best, trying as the minority party, to reform and fix the electoral process.
It is clear that option is not going to work for two main reasons:
- The Republican Party is not the least bit interested in fixing the problem, with minor exceptions. They have fully shown by both their participation in the fraud and the silence when they should have spoken, they are interested only in riding the gravy train. They don't have the votes or the inclination to change the electoral process and fix it.
- The Democrat party is fully in on not only cementing the electoral fraud permanently, but extending it much further. Look at the newly introduced "For The People Act of 2021" which was introduced on 1/4/2021. That has a bunch of really cool stuff, including mandating Internet Voting, just to name one. You get the idea.
We don't know what will happen. It is possible that the Left will foul things up so badly that even the people perpetrating the fraud won't want to steal another election. But we cannot count on those kinds of things.
Therefore, we are looking at wandering in the wilderness for a few more election cycles, maybe the next two, possible three Presidential elections. That is a long time.
The upshot of this is, in my opinion, is that we have nothing to lose by starting a new party. Nothing. And the sooner we start, the sooner we might get out of the woods.

I understand the logic behind taking over the party rather then start a third and I agree. However the un-representatives deserve this to happen to them. We'll see if it happens.

“This is the democrat dream come true. Highly doubt it’ll happen though. I hope.”
No, the Rat dream is to fix the elections ... and with the bill they’re going to pass that will make nationwide mail in voting and nationwide same day registration law, we are screwed.
We may as well make a real party and bury the GOP. The GOPe/Deep State is *never* going to allow another Trump/MAGA type into any federal position. They’re going to try and convince everyone that Mitt Romney types are the way to go moving forward.
If you’re satisfied with Mitt Romney types, then, by all means, stick with the GOP. I’ve voted GOP for the past 30 years thinking something would change ... aside from Trump, things have only gotten worse.
It’s insane to think that working with the GOP is a solution to the problem ... if anything, they want to shift more to the left. They proved that when the elites didn’t do a clean Obamacare repeal!

As someone who does this for a living, I tell you we’d better do this slowly and strategically. Not act all on emotion. Geez.

How did the Republicans beat the Whigs? They didn't. The Whigs' last Presidential candidate, Winfield Scott, lost by over 200 electoral votes in 1852. By the next Presidential election, 1856, when the Republicans ran their first Presidential candidate, the Whigs had already disbanded.
In between was the 1854-55 Congressional elections, the first federal election with Republican candidates, but the Republicans came in a distant 3rd behind the Democrats and Whigs in the Senate and 4th behind the Democrats, Whigs, and Know-Nothings in the House. No party held a majority of the House--the election of Speaker took about 2 months and resulted in the election of Know Nothing, Free Soiler, and future infamous Union general Nathaniel Banks as Speaker.
So the Republican Party never really "beat" the Whigs. It lost to the Whigs in the only federal election contested by both parties.

“It’s hardly been heard of yet, and it’s already at 25.00%
I’ll bet it would even break some of the old Democrats free
who simply could not go Republican.”
I think the way to go is targeting all of the seats in solid red areas ... chances are they won’t use Dominion crap there and the Dem will have little chance in a 3 way race.
I don’t care if the Republican in a solid red district is someone we view as “good” ... I’ve kind of seen that “good” in DC means that they’ll only stick a blade in your back 1/2 way without twisting the knife.
If we could win something like 20 seats, that would be massive ... anything more would be icing on the cake.
We’d have to caucus with the GOP of course, so we wouldn’t be completely free of their garbage, but if we could pick up 20 or so seats in 2022, 2024 would be very interesting for a new party.

I am all for this. You have to start somewhere and putting the Republican Party into third place will make them want to join us instead of the other way around.

Would it be possible to have run-off elections for President, as they do in France and many other countries? This could be done with two actual votes (France, again) or with a single round of voting with some sort of ranked order ballot. Either way, voting proceeds until someone gets 50% +1 of the votes.
To: Hojczyk
Let's talk reality.
Let's suppose in 2024 we get President Trump or Don Jr elected as President via the "Patriot Party". Let's throw in a couple seats in the House and Senate.
Do you really think that Republicans would work with them? Do you really think that "Patriot Party" hopefuls would replace all the GOPers? Really?
It would take years to get a majority........providing we could stop vote fraud by 2024!

“We would never win again.”
We are never going to win with the GOP. Moreover, we are never going to win with the Dem’s new advantage they’re manufacturing with nationwide mail in voting and same day registration. Plus they own the voting machines.
May as well give it a shot. I can no longer support the GOP after the stunt they pulled. They’re as sickening as the Democrats.

The really funny thing is that people actually believe that future elections won't be stolen as easily as the last one was. If any new party can't steal an election, don't bother. Votes don't matter as clearly evidences by the Uniparty rigging an election in broad daylight with impunity.
The whole fraud of government depends on people believing they need government. As enough walk away to have their needs addressed through other channels, the fraud of government collapses.
We are going to see incredible sales pitches on "election integrity" but it's too late. The congress has no clothes. What fool would vote in a rigged election?

My sense is trying to take over the GOP from within is doomed from the start. How many times have we thought we were going that way only to have them swallowed by the swamp.
I agree. The big GOP donors are the problem. The Tea Party tried but they were overwhelmed by the large donors, who like open borders and other establishment policies.
