An 18-year-old Texas man tipped off the FBI about his father’s role in the US Capitol riot — and said he’d do it again.
Jackson Reffitt — whose dad Guy Reffitt was charged last week in the Jan. 6 siege — told local outlet Fox4 that he acted out of moral obligation.
“It was my moral compass.. to do what I thought would protect not only my family, but my dad himself,” he said.
“I would do it again.”
The elder Reffitt, of Wylie, had allegedly threatened his son and daughter saying: “If you turn me in, you’re a traitor and you know what happens to traitors … traitors get shot,” court papers state.
His son told the TV station, “I took that as a threat, but I never thought he would act upon it.”
Reffitt said that his dad is part of a far-right militia group and that he has embraced increasingly radicalized views over the years.
He was concerned about what would happen when law enforcement came to arrest his father, saying, “The police could’ve come in at any time, at a bad time, regardless of the situation and my dad could’ve opened fire.”
Calling the FBI, “wasn’t just because I think my dad is aggressive,” Reffitt said. “I think what he’s been manipulated into thinking is aggressive.”
He also recalled the moment he learned his father was at the siege.
“I think it was FOX playing, and it was just live screening of riots at the Capitol, and the rushing in, and my mom said your dad is there,” Reffitt said.

It sounds like the left wing indoctrinated little A-hole was looking to get one over on his dad.
If it were my kid I would put his ass on the street with the clothes on his back. If he wants to eat he can find a job and join in to out capitalist society. Many of us were on our own and independent at 18 and now it is his turn.
During the last civil war families ended up on different sides and not all of them lived through it. This little A-hole needs to figure out if he values his communist friends of his family more.
I’ll give him a hint, his communist friends won’t write him out of their will but his dad would be stupid not to.

The article references that the dad was a member of the Texas Freedom Force, and refers to is as a “far right wing extremist militia.” The TFF isn’t a militia at all. They are a political group that is pushing legislation to protect Texas monuments. The TFF has nothing to do with anything outside the state of Texas. The TFF states that the person in question was a member who registered and paid his dues online, but never attended any meetings or functions.
So pretty!
This father may or may not be in a lot of trouble. The family is permanently broken. As for the brat, if he was mine I would not have threatened him, but I would disown and evict him - immediately. Calling the police on family is not okay, unless Dad committed a serious assault or worse.
And WHAT exactly did the dad do at the Capitol?
