Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) argued on this week’s broadcast of “Fox News Sunday” that the impeachment against former President Donald Trump would bring national unity.
Anchor Chis Wallace asked, “Senator, do you support holding this impeachment trial, and what do you think the rules should be on the length of the trial and whether or not to call witnesses?”
Romney said, “Well, we’re certainly going to have a trial. I wish that weren’t necessary, with the president’s conduct with regard to the call to the secretary of state in Georgia as well as the incitation towards the insurrection that led to the attack on the Capital calls for a trial. If we are going to have unity in our country, I think it’s important to recognize the need for accountability, for truth, and justice. So I think there will be a trial, and I hope it goes as quickly as possible, but that’s up to the council on both sides.”

The one benefit I see from the 2020 elections and fallout, is that the mask is off. With few exceptions, we now see the current crop of Republicans for what they really are.
If the GOP does not stave this off... it will be a nightmare for them. They have to know it. What do they think 74M people are going to go? They are itching for a third party.

Where are the Ninja Assassins when we need them the most. Somewhere there must be a “Go Fund Me” site for them. Given the voting machines are forever corrupt and useless to represent the voter, how does this not open career opportunities for assasins? If your vote never counts, what else will?

Trump won the presidency and was effective at promoting many upon many pro-American measures. Trump's successes invite comparison between Romney and Trump, and intensify Romney's loser image; and this just might eat at Romney.
I do wonder if Romney plans to run for POTUS in 2024. I hope he does, as the groundswell of Traditional GOPers will vote him off the island early in the process, providing Willard a new mountain of embarrassing failure.
