Outgoing Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Tuesday accused President Trump of provoking the violent crowd that stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.
“The last time the Senate convened, we had just reclaimed the Capitol from violent criminals who tried to stop Congress from doing our duty. The mob was fed lies. They were provoked by the president and other powerful people,” McConnell said on the Senate floor, marking the first convening of the full Senate since the attack.
McConnell’s statements carry significance ahead of an anticipated Senate impeachment trial. The GOP leader has told colleagues he hasn’t yet decided how he would vote on a House-passed article of impeachment against Trump.

There is only one reason that he did this... They are afraid that President Trump still has something up his sleeve and he is waiting until the last minute to spring it on them. This is a reminder that Turtle Boy and company is on the side of the Democrats should President Trump so something to retain his position.

Working from memory, I don't think that's true. I think Trump won Kentucky about 63-37 but McConnell won his race against FAR LEFT Amy McGrath about 60-40.
In 2014 I voted to primary McConnell out, but...
If so, it's not a stretch to believe he's saying this now. As the Senate majority leader, he's been woefully out of touch with what's been going on.

I never was sure. I once posted that I didn’t trust them and just wait until we read “Trump appointed judge rules against...” headlines.

I think there will be many investigators for truth, if our friends handle the trial right in the Senate. Surely the focus should be on the massive evidence of gross irregularities in the election. The Leader of the Trump team needs to study the psychology of Mark Anthony’s speech in Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar!
If the democrats don’t have a problem with political violence why should we, Mitchy? By the way, I really don’t recall you making a big stink at all about the democrat endorsed riots and mayhem of this year. We are a much more lawless nation now. We just had a stolen Presidential election for crissakes. Law and order is just another quaint and outdated American value. Nobody cares Mitch, nobody.
