National Guard troops hunkered down at the Capitol building Wednesday night following the House of Representative's historic impeachment vote as workers toiled into the night setting up additional barricades and a non-scalable fence was erected outside the Trump hotel.
Security measures are being heightened inside and surrounding the Capitol in the wake of the January 6 riot that left five dead and ahead of anticipated violence in the countdown to Inauguration Day.
A total of 20,000 National Guardsman have been authorized to descend on Washington to safeguard the nation’s capital. There are already 6,200 troops on the ground in DC and at least 10,000 more will arrive by Saturday.

Isn’t Biden installation supposed to be virtual, so that too makes me question who is wanting so many guards in DC?
If Trump controls DC National Guard then why is he doing this?

The point is that our political class gets borders, walls, armed guards, guns, security...all while doing their damndest to deny all of the above to us.
So, 80 million people supposedly elected Biden, yet DC needs 20,000+ troops to protect him and the rest of our so-called leaders during the inauguration?
On another note, this is one of the most depressing things I’ve ever seen. What are we, some third world hellhole? This is America, and we have 20,000+ troops, walls, military vehicles and other military hardware descending on our nation’s capital?

We had a N Korean style election, trial and conviction. May as well have troops goose stepping through Red Square.
Is it just me or does everyone realize that there will be NOBODY in D.C. for the so called inauguration, so why all the troops?
Poor troops. I feel sorry for them. This is the army Mr. Jones. What a joke.
The question I have is what is the chain of command for all this? I think that other states can only provide NG if requested by another governor. I realize DC is unique, but I know for a fact that NG here in FL is being deployed and I doubt Desantis is volunteering FL NG for this. So has the NG been federalized? If so, that raises all sorts of interesting questions since I doubt Trump would over react like this.
The other option is SecDef is doing this without Trump’s authorization which I also doubt.
Couple that with the rather curious letter the JCS sent out a couple days ago to *.mil (the JCS have no command authority at all over any of the combatant commands in the US military - they are advisory only to the President) and complete silence from SecDef on the matter, and I wonder if something isn’t afoot.
Basically, I don’t understand how 20,000 NG get deployed to a single location without POTUS being directly involved.
I was wondering why the Nat Guard was in DC so soon before the inauguration. They knew what the vote would be days ago.
Actually I am hearing its 50,000. I wonder if the rats ever think that’s a tad overkill for a virtual inauguration? 😃
I was listening on the radio - an interview with Washington State attorney general (maybe former??). He said that the impeachment trial could continue even if President Trump is out of office???
Although it might get interesting if President Trump could use it as a way of getting all of the information about the stolen election into the record.
It just pisses me off though - the attorney general was saying how President Trump’s accusations of a stolen election are false. Even if that is true - it has never been proven. No court will take it!
If President Trump would get rid of the nut job Lin Wood and others, (I wonder if Ted Cruz could represent the case??) - it could get real interesting if an impeachment trial carries into 2021.
They spent 2 hours deciding on this second impeachment - I’m guessing that they may not have considered all of the various aspects of the case.

Just as the enemy-of-the-state (Goldstein) in Orwell’s 1984 was actually a creation of INGSOC/Big Brother. Our corporate fascist state will create false flag events around the country to further solidify their grip on power. All caught in these false flag events will be publicly denounced as traitors, while the sheep celebrate their demise. If the party says 2+2=5 you best agree or perish.

One thing that keeps popping up from the dept of of my brain is that while Trump for weeks encouraged a mass protest at the Capitol; at the end of every plea Trump would add the caveat, IT'S GOING TO BE WILD'...The protest itself wasn't wild...But the events afterward were certainly wild...So apparently Trump knew...
In spite of the deadline looming close and the constant defeats we are experiencing I keep getting that small voice that says, 'be still; behold'...
They don't need much...Just enough to make some noise and get some good media shots to fool the public...
I seen videos of the troops laying around like Skid Row... piss poor IMHO. they could have been shown a bit more professional...
Democrats fail to see the concern other countries have now that power has shifted back to the swamp they have set trust back many years.
