As the fallout continues following last Wednesday’s Capitol insurrection, Democratic New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took to her social media this week to share the terror she experienced that day – at times fearing her own congressional colleagues would turn her over to the angry mob to be killed.

On September 11, 2001 our country suffered a real attack and in the aftermath both men and women gave up their lives trying to rescue the victims. People who got out went back in to save others. Stories of courage and sacrifice abounded. Now, less than 20 years later, there was a peaceful protest which was infiltrated by a group of agitators who broke into the capital and mostly walked around. A few were violent and unfortunately there were a few casualties. During this time, our entire legislative branch cowered in fear, hiding under their desk and locked away in bathrooms.
Remarkably, no one is talking about courage or sacrifice but instead, competing with one another about who was more terrified. Watching this craven display by both men and women during the impeachment hearing reminded me how far we have fallen as a country is such a short period of time.
At the very least.
Interesting, isn’t it, how the dems always project onto others the plans they have for us.

So tired of congress members thinking they had a great tragedy befall them by having to hide in the basement for 5-6 hours. I’m old enough to remember that Trump was made fun of for hiding in the basement when the protesters were at Lafayette square. And then he was called a dictator for having the military or secret service push them back. In that case, they’re all dictators too.
I don’t hate you for the color of your skin; I hate you for the content of your character.

They had armed agents protecting them in a secure room, so I doubt they were in much danger.
In 1997 I was working in a small branch office in the first desk position about 15 feet away from the front door. We had just opened so the glass door was unlocked.
I was on the phone with a client when there was a blast that I instantly knew was both barrels of a shotgun.
By the grace of God, the deranged person that had the shotgun did not enter the office but got into his van and fled.
We identified him but they didn’t catch him until a week later. Our employer partially boarded up the front door and we stayed open for business never closing for a minute. We all breathed easier after he was caught.
We’re just lucky there wasn’t a massacre of these largely unarmed protestors, at least those who actually were Trump supporters. Things would be in a very bad state right now if they had shot dozens rather than just one unarmed protestor.
The media and left-wing politicians are going to an extreme that is ludicrous and casts considerable doubt on their abilities to do the important jobs they have. This is why Donald Trump left a very cushy life to take on this task, to try to show the country that there was a better way, in many ways like a return to the politics of a better and bygone age.
Who wouldn’t prefer to have Eisenhower and Nixon being sworn in on the 20th? Practical men who knew how to get important things done and didn’t care about your gender or your race all that much. Instead we are a week away from handing the country over to a mental defective and a troubled feminist bully, and already in the tent is the biggest hypocrite of modern times, and a supporting cast of weasels and snake oil salesmen.
There may be half a dozen decent Senators and a hundred or so reliable congressmen. Those aren’t very good odds going into a communist revolution in slow motion.
The isolation and no doubt the soon to come harassment of a fine man, Donald Trump, is both sickening and infuriating. It is the career criminals who survived the election that need to be impeached.
As for AOC, she is a lightweight idiot way out of her depth. When people like that are given power, they abuse it and bad things happen. I would imagine even the likes of Biden and Pelosi know the limitations of this odious loudmouth. However they are hardly much better, just a little more practiced at the arts of saying things in disguise.
The communist little twit isn’t THIS stupid. She’s merely pushing the propaganda to further divide and incite.
