In China, if you need a firearm for farm purposes, they loan you a shotgun and 2 rounds for a day, and then come and get their shotgun and spent casings.
The NRA needs to clean house and get back to the business of advocating for protecting our 2nd Amendment rights. They have a lot of issues one being primarily of image. They have been framed as “Evil” by the left very effectively that many Americans buy that line hook, line and sinker.
The lies we have been told over the years...
1962 We ONLY want to register handguns. Rifles will not be affected!
1964, We ONLY want to register ALL firearms, not ban them.
1968 We ONLY want to register all guns, and ban the import
of foreign Saturday Night Specials, and 5-shot bolt action army surplus rifles! (they got the ban).
1970, We ONLY want to ban small American handguns. Rifles will not be affected!
1976 We ONLY want to ban ALL handguns! Rifles will not be affected!
1981, Actress Lee Grant on GMA screams...”THE NRA IS A RIFLE ORGANIZATION! THEY SHOULD GIVE UP THEIR HANDGUNS AND THEY CAN KEEP THEIR RIFLES!”
1984, they made a grab for the rifles, and missed, but played their hand.
1988,Josh Sugarmann, of the National Council to Ban Handguns tells how to ban rifles.
“Assault weapons’ menacing looks, coupled with the public’s confusion over
fully-automatic machine guns versus semi-automatic assault weapons
—anything that looks like a machine gun is assumed to be a machine
gun— can only increase the chance of public support for restrictions on
these weapons.”
– Josh Sugarmann
But I haven't bought any firearms since it was issued. But with recent events I'm finally gonna buy one...if for no other reason than to say to Plugs,Heels Up and others BLEEP YOU! The problem is my lawyer says that Massachusetts has a million laws on the books that can land someone like me in state prison if I even look at someone the wrong way. And there's a whackjob in my building who's always calling the cops for noise and other things...she's called about me several times but not since I got my permit.I must admit that my lawyer's warnings, along with my whackjob neighbor, scare me a bit.
Also, anyone have recommendations? Glock? Sig Sauer? S&W?
Sorry. I don’t trust the NRA anymore. Years ago they fought every issue. They would fight if there was even new labeling instructions on ammo containers.
Now they are like the RINOs and will give up stuff to be nice.
I don’t want the NRA to be nice. I want them to be feared.
When they come for our guns, we cannot individually fight the constitutionality of the confiscation laws they will pass (other than using up your rounds). Thats when the NRA becomes indispensable.
I believe they will sooner or later say any semi-automatic weapon is an assault weapon. They will try to disarm law abiding citizens but give a pass to felons, MS13 gang members and any other illegal aliens because they are too dangerous to try to disarm...and probably voted Democrat.
An idea has been growing in my brain. Basically the concept of a “bench-top” armory.
The idea would be to create a series of books/how-tos/videos on building the TOOLS needed to:
- make a series of frames (pistols, ARs etc so CNC milling, perhaps casting lowers)
- stamped guns (AK, M3, etc so presses, templates and dies)
- small parts (trigger, springs, etc)
- barrels and rifling
- reloading equipment (press and dies)
- powder, primer and alternates
The starting assumption is for an individual who wants to be self sufficient, could fully equip their own armory in their garage with a minimum of space. The focus would not be the manufacture of fire arms but how to build the tools needed to build firearms.
Do this as an open source project and sell the final book/DVD to cover costs.
There is a line drawn in the ground concerning the 2nd amendment. Democrats don’t know where that line is and will keep slow walking till they cross it. Problem is that once that line is crossed there will be no turning back, no backing up the truck. At that point they will learn where the line it but it will be too late. Things will take a dramatic turn at that point.
False Flag operation expected at anytime.
To modify or overturn an amendment requires 2/3 of the states to agree. Ain’t going to happen.
Not just gun owners it’s only the first step recall what Hitler and others did when the people are unarmed.
Mask us
Steal (an election) from us
Muzzle us
Disarm us
Intern us
Kill us
An interesting twist on this discussion are the many dem gun owners. They seem unaware or unconcerned they’re being lumped into the ‘gun owners are bad’ bin. Perhaps they feel only conservatives will lose their guns but all dems will be given a pass? I don’t know but you can be sure gun ownership has no political boundaries.
Politely hand over your ARs pointy end first.
;-)
(That means it is a joke, you lousy FIBBERS!)
Buy a Ruger 10/22, it’s a very popular and excellent rifle, it shoots inexpensive .22 caliber ammo, is both reliable and accurate, is available in a multitude of configurations, and enjoys an exceptional breadth of after market accessories.
Every knowledgeable gun enthusiast either already has one or wants one or more. Learning to use it properly and safely is (one of) the best way(s) to find out if gun ownership is for you. If so, you’re off on the right foot with a gun you’ll treasure. If not, it’ll sell lightning fast.
Put in the time and effort to learn how to shoot safely and accurately and you’ll be ready to explore other types of firearms from a solid foundation.
Caution: Talk is cheap and can also be very expensive. When it comes to guns, there’s an awful lot of foolish nonsense around, usually accompanied by excessive braggadocio. Use U-tube to do your pre-purchase homework. Check out the ‘plinkster’ for an intro into the world of .22 caliber guns. You can branch out from there.
If every gun owner voted R then Democrats wouldn’t get elected. The next few years will open many people’s eyes. I expect the backlash to be historic.
It almost seems like their plan is to label MAGA (or even the Republican party) as a terrorist organization in order to take our arms.
They used to have an excellent series of pamphlets -- Grandpa Jack conics -- that were excellent for BoR outreach. I used to drop a few on break room tables, mens restroom, park benches, magazine racks ...
We are all "Jews" now.
