Alexey Navalny @navalny
22h Replying to @navalny 2. Of course, during his time in the office, Trump has been writing and saying very irresponsible things. And paid for it by not getting re-elected for a second term. Alexey Navalny @navalny
22h 3. The election is a straightforward and competitive process. You can participate in it, you can appeal against the results, they're being monitored by millions of people. The ban on Twitter is a decision of people we don't know in accordance with a procedure we don't know. Alexey Navalny @navalny
22h 4. In my opinion, the decision to ban Trump was based on emotions and personal political preferences. Alexey Navalny @navalny
22h 5. Don't tell me he was banned for violating Twitter rules. I get death threats here every day for many years, and Twitter doesn't ban anyone (not that I ask for it). Alexey Navalny @navalny
22h 6. Among the people who have Twitter accounts are cold-blooded murderers (Putin or Maduro) and liars and thieves (Medvedev). For many years, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram have been used as a base for Putin's "troll factory" and similar groups from other authoritarian countries Alexey Navalny @navalny
22h 7. Those who denied COVID-19 exist freely and communicate on Twitter. Their words have cost thousands of lives. And yet, it was Trump who got banned publicly and ostentatiously. Such selectivity indicates that this was an act of censorship. Alexey Navalny @navalny
22h 8. Of course, Twitter is a private company, but we have seen many examples in Russian and China of such private companies becoming the state's best friends and the enablers when it comes to censorship. Alexey Navalny @navalny
22h 9. If you replace "Trump" with "Navalny" in today's discussion, you will get an 80% accurate Kremlin's answer as to why my name can't be mentioned on Russian TV and I shouldn't be allowed to participate in any elections. Alexey Navalny @navalny
22h 10. This precedent will be exploited by the enemies of freedom of speech around the world. In Russia as well. Every time when they need to silence someone, they will say: 'this is just common practice, even Trump got blocked on Twitter'. Alexey Navalny @navalny
22h 11. If @twitter and @jack want to do things right, they need to create some sort of a committee that can make such decisions. We need to know the names of the members of this committee, understand how it works, how its members vote and how we can appeal against their decisions.
“ In China the State controls the media
In America the media controls the State”
Jack Posobiec
And guess who isn’t losing any sleep over it. Big tech execs. Totally protected now.
America will also lose so-call soft power liberals love to mention: invisible asset of American political system and institutions which other countries respect and admire. Now in one fell swoop, that is gone.
Under fire? Pffft...they are giving us the finger and laughing about it.
During the ceremony of England’s final defeat by George Washington their band played ‘The World Turned Upside Down’. A Russian leader fighting American tyranny needs the same tune!
Should’ve surprised anybody that these companies, which are in bed with the Chinese, or doing this? They develop the means to censor and control citizens. Now they’re using it.
I’m thinking more and more of legal actin against big tech.
They are acting under color of law via section 230, and top government officials are encouraging the censorship. They also have created a modern “public square”.
Novel arguments? But they are novel technologies.
And they’re are other issues of foreign influence without registering a foreign agents, many others.
What if AT&T decided to cut off the White House and the President.
Because they disagree with him.
Would we all be saying “they can run their company any way want, and ban whoever they want”. Somehow I doubt it.
Since conservatives and Republicans are telling the truth, the only viable response is to silence them.
If social media loses half its membership, at what point will stockholders say enough, and demand new leader ship. What is the responsibility of the leader ship to make a profit? And the stockholders agree to lose money to accomplish a political and that they might not agree with?
“Pig Tech” must be recognized for what it is: Anti-American.
On that basis alone, it should be eliminated from America.
1. I never promoted my business through one of these stupid social media platforms because I did not have full control of the content, the platform or the users. It’s turned out to be one of the smartest decisions I’ve ever made.
2. When I bought a new mobile phone last year I didn’t get an iPhone 10 ... or even an iPhone 1. I got a flip phone that’s about a 2002-2003 vintage. It was the simplest and least functional phone available.
3. This year I’m “upgrading” my office computer system ... by DOWNGRADING it. My cloud-based system is being replaced by an internal server where I’ll be hosting all of my files myself.
If I can’t trust Big Tech, I can’t use it.
If any conservative media figure thinks that they need Twitter because “it’s their livelihood”, then they are seriously delusional.
The democrat socialists no longer have to worry about elections. Big Tech has cracked the code and the electoral system is now “pwned.”
That and $.50 will get you a Phone Call if you can actually find a Pay Phone.
Trump is letting the criminals commit the crimes.
Chief Justice John Robert’s, are you proud of what your actions have wrought?
Even the ACLU chimes in. wow! Even if it’s out of a pretense of fairness
Break these monopolies up and throw the perps of the insurrection in prison.
Does anyone know how the President plans on responding to Twitter banning him?
Can’t he simply start using another site - like Parler - and bring his huge following over with him?
I hope he does something like that..
I, for one, don’t give a crap about Twitter - I just want to know what the President is saying.
