1. I never promoted my business through one of these stupid social media platforms because I did not have full control of the content, the platform or the users. It’s turned out to be one of the smartest decisions I’ve ever made.
2. When I bought a new mobile phone last year I didn’t get an iPhone 10 ... or even an iPhone 1. I got a flip phone that’s about a 2002-2003 vintage. It was the simplest and least functional phone available.
3. This year I’m “upgrading” my office computer system ... by DOWNGRADING it. My cloud-based system is being replaced by an internal server where I’ll be hosting all of my files myself.
If I can’t trust Big Tech, I can’t use it.
Good for you. Downgrading a computer system does not look like a smart move for many people. But if you want a security and total control of your system, that is the way to go, I think.
