McConnell circulates procedures for second senate impeachment trial of Trump
The Hill ^ | 01/08/21 | Alexander Bolton

Outgoing Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Friday circulated to colleagues a memo outlining the procedure for holding another trial for President Trump if the House impeaches him for a second time in just over a year.

The document, which was first reported by The Washington Post, lays out how the Senate would proceed if the House approves articles of impeachment and transmits them to the upper chamber before or by Jan. 19, when senators are scheduled to resume regular business after the January recess.

So they cannot remove Trump or ban him from future office.

Meaning the impeachment is a meaningless exercise, which will just serve to enrage us & many other Americans.

They are stupid.

THIS IS WHAT HE SHOULD BE SUPPORTING
THE GEORGIA RESULTS
URGE TRUMP TO SEND IN AN ARMY OF FED PROSECUTORS AND DO THIS
There were a series of fraudulent voting charges here. Were they enforced and corrected before this election took place ? If they weren’t is not a review called for ?
If the Georgia Secretary of State is in charge of voting he has the responsibility of enforcing the state’s regulations as to who votes. And eliminate those from voter lists who don’t qualify.

Assign prosecutors to personally canvass and investigate. Check if military actually voted by asking them. Identify all voters by checking on their residency and citizenship. If found they do not qualify charge Illegals including state visitors known as snowbirds also include any technical computer fraudulent programming testimony when presenting to the court and get these election results tossed. Try and get it done SAP before the 20th

I wonder what the comments section would look like if people had to read more than the headline to comment.

The memo says that the senate is holding pro-forma sessions until 19 January unless there is unanimous consent to hold a real session. The earliest they could officially receive a notification of impeachment from the house would be at 1pm on the 19th. The senate would then need a minimum of one day to set things up, which means the senate would be for all practical purposes discussing holding a political trial for a private citizen. I guess they could still try to push for impeachment at that point and make that topic the first act of the Biden/Harris circus, which I wouldn’t put beyond Schumer and Harris.

Just changed “party affiliation+ on voter registration from Rep to NPA. Done with these backstabbers. Had been with them since 1972. Almost 50 years. Maybe not being able to vote will be better than having to hold one’s nose for the “lesser of two evils”.

Excreta is gonna hit the rotating turbine blades. Have no idea what might transpire, but my spidey senses are starting to ping. As I posted on an earlier thread, it does no harm to keep one’s eyes open.

Hopefully, Mitch the Bitch won’t be too terribly happy about things after all is said and done.

[How do you impeach a president an hour after he has ceased to be President?

I’m no fan of Turtle; but Thank You, Zhang Fei.]

You may not like the Toitle, but we’re part of the same coalition. Think of RINO’s as the French - always bitching and complaining - and the Democrats as the Soviet Union. We may not always agree with the French, but we should always remember the real enemy - the Godless totalitarians on the left.

This article makes no sense whatsoever.

It says, “It would require a vote of two-thirds of the Senate or 67 senators — if all are present — to remove Trump from office before Jan. 20. That means at least 17 senators would have to vote with all 50 members of the Senate Democratic caucus for a conviction.”

but it also says that a Senate trial could not begin until AFTER Trump has left office.

Will Turtle still be minority leader? I don’t know if the GOPe sens have officially voted on that yet.

They should not reward him for throwing the majority away with his idiotic blockage of the $2,000 stand-alone bill.

Thank you for presenting the rest of the story. Hard to hold a trial on a President who is no longer president, when the only possible punishment is removal from the office he no longer holds....

Mitch obviously does not LIKE Trump, but he’s using the rules to Trump’s favor in this.

The Democrats and D.I.A.B.L.O. wing of the Republicans have won this time.

Now they go full Police State and don't think there will be consequences?

Jan. 19: A trial to remove POTUS one day before his term expires?

What the bleep would that accomplish...

That they waste time with this garbage is proof of how out of touch the government is with the people.

Once it gets to the 21st then McConnell is no longer the majority leader anymore.

They are talking taking the impeachment vote on the 13th. That leaves a week to prepare the prosecution and allow a defense at a trial presided over by Roberts. As bad as Roberts is, I can’t see him wanting this kangaroo trial to be part of his legacy.

I would think the cabinet removal approach would be more possible but very unlikely, but I never thought we would get this far. There are a lot of people really worried about what Trump is going to do. I would like to know why.

A more logical concern would be what is China, North Korea, or Iran going to do before the 20th? We do know if something bad happens, it will be blamed on Trump. The members of the establishment are blind morons, they can’t figure out that their stupidity and corruption is why Trump won in the first place.
