The police officer who shot Trump supporter Ashli Babbitt dead has been suspended and the incident is currently under investigation.
Babbitt was shot in the neck at almost point blank range during yesterday’s chaos in DC during the storming of the Capitol building.
Footage of the shocking incident clearly shows that non-lethal measures could have been used against Babbitt, who served her country during a 14 year stint in the Air Force.
The officer who shot Babbitt, who was wearing a suit and positioned inside the Senate chamber when he opened fire, has now been suspended pending an investigation.
US Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund also said that there would be a “thorough review” of security measures following the incident.
Sund said in his statement that officers had acted “valiantly” against rioters who “actively attacked United States Capitol Police Officers and other uniformed law enforcement officers with metal pipes, discharged chemical irritants, and took up other weapons against our officers.”
As we highlighted earlier, some leftist commentators called for police to shoot Trump supporters before Babbitt was killed, while others gloated over her death on Facebook and Twitter.
Three other people died during the bedlam, but authorities have only revealed that they were killed as a result of “medical emergencies.”
Immediately after the shooting, mainstream media journalists such as Huffington Post’s Matt Fuller falsely claimed that Trump supporters were shooting into the chamber, when the opposite was true.
I hope to witness organized marches across America. They need to witness the enormity of the disenfranchised.
There are films showing the shooter firing from a position about 8 to 10 feet to the side, perpendicular to Ashli Babbitt position. In no way was she endangering the shooter, or any one else (possibly excepting her own by climbing through a broken window). She was obviously not holding a gun while holding onto the window frame with both hands. The circumstances warrant dismissal and charges of at least negligent homicide due to panic/gross incompetence. If it can be shown that the shooter was aware of a plan to let the protesters into the building for political effect, then the charge should rise to first degree murder.

Besides this one unnecessary shooting by one rogue LEO, I think the actions of the other LEO’s that I’ve seen on video seem pretty restrained.
This disgusting murder is second only to the JFK shooting. Violent and uncalled for.

I don’t think Capitol police acted valiantly. They killed an unarmed person. They didn’t secure the Capitol and let a mob get through. By no measure do they do well. They were incompetent.

Ashli Babbitt didn’t break in, she didn’t break the door window she was going through........she wasn’t armed.
She was trespassing.
Which isn’t even a felony.
But she paid a felony’s price.
Because of an eager Capitol cop that wanted to shot someone in his miserable career.
