Viewer discretion advised. Video clearly shows the officer shooting Ashli. Watch this and tell me it's not murder.
You sound as if you are condoning murder. A Pile of chairs and what could be an empty room constitute a “dignitary”, Daddio?
It seems the police were actually just behind the girl who was shot. I think it was just the girl trying to climb thru the window. Point blank in her face.

Good question. Another good question is why the guy inside did shoot. Possibly because she had broken through a window and was climbing inside. Are you telling me you would not shoot someone doing that at your house? I would.
Go lick some badges elsewhere.
People who don't have a reasonable answer resort to comments like that one. Maybe you should think things over a bit before making comments that make you look like a leftist idiot. I took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America. So did she. Same oath.
We are not a banana republic, we are a biden client state to the chicoms. As such they will now export our foods to their exploding population and tell us we better like the changes.
I posted the law above.
It’s murder.
>>Yeah... of course. She asked for it. You could say the same about Sophie Scholl. But you likely wouldn’t know about that.<<
Relax. You said she asked for it...not me. Ashli didn’t deserve to die, but it was her own actions that facilitated her death.
Just like drinking and driving...no one intends to fall asleep and drift into oncoming traffic.
It’s unfortunate, but you cannot go to D.C. and do what she did w/o either being arrested or hurt.
Save it locally.
Google, et al, will search private accounts and delete it.
What are the rules for deadly force in the Capitol Building?
While it appears the shooter was not being threatened of any physical harm, it is presumed, like the castle doctrine, under Capitol rules that anyone entering this space is a dangerous threat?
I don’t know.
I did not hear any warning either.
I retired in 1997. Don't know if that counts as long ago or recently to you. Much of my last year, I was teaching that among other things to Airmen who were preparing to deploy overseas. Personally, I don't remember anyone saying that breaking into a government office was a good idea. I'm pretty sure that we were not only told that it was our duty to report things that we heard, but to actively protect government officials. I doubt that she was actively intending to harm anyone, but I can see how someone in there could think otherwise.
I don’t think so.
I hadn’t seen this view before. Good to be informed.
“...Ashli didn’t deserve to die, but it was her own actions that facilitated her death....”

Yep, kinda like Sophie Scholl. Sophie, Ashli... you should have been more prudent.
“What were they thinking, that the police were just going to let this mob run through the halls of Congress to do God knows what? “
With your logic? The cops should have just shot EVERYONE, just to be sure.
Has anyone verified the location of Lon Horiuchi at that time?
I don't think it will matter if the officer or whatever is black or white. Not sure it's an officer. Photos seem to show the shooter wearing a white dress shirt with cufflink. Could be a congresscritter, or many other other types of people. Since the person was armed, it could be an officer, but is not certain.
She broke through a window and started to climb through. It is not unreasonable to think she was a threat. Not real easy to tell she was female, the way she was dressed, either, from what little I saw in the video.
Good for you!
But you might want to check the laws in your state. In most states if you shoot someone who is NOT fully in your house, or in some states even if they fall backwards out the door after being shot, you will be charged with murder.
Will you be convicted? Maybe, maybe not, but you will be unemployed, homeless, broke, and broken.
Unless you are a cop or politician, of course...
Someone with the proper software should be able to ID the killer.
Castle doctrine is usually restricted to someone actually being inside your house. First, this isn’t Mr. Cufflink’s house. Second, she hadn’t breached the threshold.
There were cops all around her and Mr. Cufflink doesn’t appear to be a law officer. The big question is why was he carrying a weapon inside the Capitol?
That was totally uncalled for.
(1) the law enforcement officer reasonably believe that deadly fore is immediately necessary to protect the law enforcement officer or another person, other than the subject of the use of deadly force, from the threat of serious bodily injury or death;
(2) the law enforcement’s officer’s actions are reasonable, given the totality of the circumstances; and
(3) all other options have been exhausted or do not reasonably lend themselves to the circumstances.
If the individual feels he met all of these, he's going to feel justified in shooting. She was not outside on the other side a door.
She was climbing through a broken window, so far as I can tell. We're not seeing what he saw, because the video is not from his perspective. From out where the videographer was standing it looks entirely different from the shooter's perspective. Part of my time in the USAF, I was a photographer, and I documented a riot at the base where I was stationed. The rioters there thought they were justified in their rioting, but they were also putting lives in danger, theirs and others.
You have no idea what the shooter was seeing, thinking, or feeling. You ASSUME things that are not evident. Is it possible that you're right? Yes, it is. It is also possible that you are wrong. You need to realize that. I learned something long ago that is probably applicable here: Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.
