U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, D-Mo., who pastors St. James United Methodist Church in Kansas City, Mo., ends his invocation in the U.S. House of Representatives to open the 117th Congress on Sunday, January 3, 2021, with "Amen and Awomen."

I had to check this on YouTube. I am not sure whether I should laugh, cry or start praying. Wow! First of all ‘amen’ has nothing to do with gender. Second, I heard mention of Brahman (the trimurti, Hindu trinity of Brahma - no ‘n’, Vishnu and Shiva - who when combined are Brahman - with ‘n’). Very weird.

“Amen” is based on a Hebrew word for acknowledging God. It has zero to do with an English word like “men”.
