California is at the breaking point: COVID-19 patients in ambulances are waiting EIGHT HOURS before entering ERs as ICUs run out of capacity and hard-hit LA County probes whether the new, more contagious strain is spreading locally

Hospitals in Southern California are so overrun by COVID-19 cases that doctors are running low on supplies of oxygen, infected patients are forced to wait eight hours in ambulances before they can enter an emergency room, and intensive care units are fully booked with no more beds available.

The skyrocketing surge in COVID-19 cases is raising suspicions among public health officials in Los Angeles County that a new, more contagious variant of the coronavirus is fueling the outbreak.

California's deadly Christmas was marked by pleas to avoid holiday gatherings outside the home and indoor church services in what could be a make-or-break effort to curb a coronavirus surge that already has filled some hospitals well beyond normal capacity.

it seems to me if people wait 8 hrs to be seen they should have been ferried up to Ventura Cnty or down to Orange Cnty. also during flu season in years past L A has had add-on field hospital tents set up. i question the reporting - L A’s preparation and L A’s ongoing management of supposed escalating figures. also i’d like to know how much of this is due to illegals in a sanctuary city.

CHYnafornia? Lots of out of work crisis LARPERS. They are more convincing than the Chinese. They even have academy awards to prove it.

...it is called COLDER WEATHER!!

As I wrote elsewhere, lest anyone think otherwise, we are seeing a SEASONAL RISE in cases and fatalities, and likely not a "surge" or a "new strain of the virus."

The majority of deaths in most countries can be attributed to causes that feature a distinct seasonal pattern. The figure depicts the relative monthly frequencies of nine selected causes of death in the United States for women and men combined for the years 1959–2014. The reported number of counts in parentheses in the title of each panel is the actual number of deaths.

Viruses gonna virus. Even non-viruses gonna non-virus.

Open up the economy - the only thing that will cause an abatement is the vernal equinox.

i’d like to know how much of this is due to illegals.

I haven't seen any reportage on that. Interesting question.

What LA County’s dashboard says...

Select hospitalization from the upper left corner.

Question (I really do not know the answer): How many of these COVID “cases” really need ER admission and how many are a response to the fear that has been generated that every cough and sniffle must be a sign of COVID that will need ICU care?

Yawnnnnnn. If they didn’t have all the illegals clogging the system maybe it would be different.

To keep everyone safe, have big BLM and Antifa protests, and include all of those sick with Covid. We know that Covid is not transmitted in such protests.

Not a single nod in this article to a demographic feature which would actually be helpful to the reader: 70% of covid cases in CA are hispanics.

No, that would be too insensitive to mention. Better to keep people shut down, in the dark, rather than to indicate that there are places in CA where it is relatively safer to be about a more normal lifestyle.

If 60-70% of your population are hispanic, then why wouldn’t you expect them to make up 60-70% of the cases?

Total 100% BS. This is fake news, its simply made up to make the sheep believe this is why we need to continue the mask mandates and shut downs. Of course the ignorant sheep will never think to ask, if we’re masking and locked down why does the virus still spread, and why is it getting worse?

I heard a Dr. call in on the Dennis Prager radio program a few days a go....He said that illegal aliens are flooding ERs and taking up most of the ICU beds. He was a very rational, logical guy. My guess is he is correct....

Always good to hear about leftist democrats having to live with the government they voted for and thus the society that government created for those same voters.

Sorry to say, these californians deserve every miserable moment.
