Large explosion, buildings damaged in downtown Nashville (RV exploded?)

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A large explosion was reported in downtown Nashville early Christmas morning.

The explosion happened in the area of Second Avenue and Broadway near Commerce Street

A Class A ‘Motorcoach’ usually has a 40-60 gallon propane tank onboard. So if there’s a fire or something, and it lets go, it makes a really big boom!

Unless tampered with or something goes horribly wrong, a modern propane tank will not explode even if sitting in a full-on fire. The safety and relief devices built in will prevent explosion. Sure, the contents will catch fire when released but a flat out explosion? Hardly likely. but nnot impossible.

True but it may have leaked into the cabin in which case the whole RV blew up, sort of like a gas leak in a house.

From the picture it was a hell of a lot more than a propane tank. That is some wide spread destruction.

I just listened to the news broadcast on this site and a person on the scene said they heard multiple gunshots before and then the explosion.
