Dr. Deborah Birx announced Tuesday that she will retire just days after she was accused of bending her own rules with a Thanksgiving weekend gathering at a beach house.
The White House coronavirus task force leader said she would stay in her role until President-elect Joe Biden takes office before stepping down.

“I will have to say that this experience has been a bit overwhelming,” Birx said. “It’s been very difficult on my family.”
Birx visited the beach home over the holiday weekend with members of more than one household in apparent violation of Centers for Disease Control restrictions, the Associated Press reported.
She admitted being taken aback by the harsh criticism over the visit, which she insisted was misplaced.
Like millions of Americans, she said her family has paid a heavy price during the months-long pandemic.
“They’ve tried to be supportive. But to drag my family into this, when my daughter hasn’t left that house in 10 months, my parents have been isolated for 10 months,” Birx said. “These are very difficult things.”

I understood the restrictions were recommended, not ordered. Many people traveled over the holiday.
This woman was working 20 hour days to bring this pandemic under control. She was bought back from Africa where she was working on AIDS, specifically to work on COVID-19. And during that African tour was separated from her family.
I am sorry but I think her taking a weekend with her family is all right. I am sure within the context of her family they practiced safety procedures.
What have any of the complainers done?
Wasn't it nice a year ago when we didn't have to ask ourselves 'is that an order or just a recommendation from the government?' Because at the start of 2020 we didn't take orders from the government.

Early on I at least sort of respected scarf lady as she seemed to be more science minded and less fear mongering then Dr. Fraud, However, as time went on if that was the case she should have separated her self in some manner to prove it. Right now I kind of consider her on the same level, just not as bad.
