Joining You in Prayer, Dear Faith, in Jesus Holy Name.
Our prayer today is based on Psalm 64.
Lord God, our hope lies in You alone. We are in a season of war, but we lift up our eyes to You---our Banner and Shield, the Captain of our souls. As servants of the Most High God we humbly cry out to You. We are confident that You hear our cry---our bitter complaint, and we ask You to keep us safe from this band of criminals and the conspiracy of the wicked people who are seeking to destroy America. They gather in their secret counsel to destroy us! We know You hear their slander and lies. Their words are like poison-tipped arrows shot in the darkness. They are unafraid and have no fear of consequences. They set their traps against us in secret; they strengthen one another, saying, “No one can see us. Who can stop us?” They are nothing more than unruly mobs joined in their unholy alliance, searching out new opportunities to pervert justice. They are deceivers scheming together their ill-conceived plot as they plan the “perfect crime.” Their endless evil is unsearchable! They attempt to hide the deep darkness of their hearts.
But all the while, You, God have Your own fire-tipped arrows! Suddenly, without warning, they will be pierced and struck down. Staggering backward they will be destroyed by the very ones they spoke against. All who see this will view them with scorn. Then all will stand awestruck over what You, Lord, have done; for You will vindicate the victims of these crimes.
As lovers of You, Dear God, we will be glad, rejoicing in our God Who defends us. We are confident that You will perfect that which concerns us, for Your mercy endures forever. You will not forsake the works of Your own hands. We will be found in Your glorious wrap-around presence, singing songs of praise to You for all You have done.
Lord, grant our leaders and their counsel ears to hear Your magnificent messages of direction and triumph. And may all of us who trust in You be still and know that You are God. We wait on You, Lord. In Your Word we hope. Blessed is our Rock Who reigns and may the God of our Salvation be exalted. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

1 Why, O Lord, do you stand far off?
Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?
2 In arrogance the wicked persecute the poor—
let them be caught in the schemes they have devised.

those greedy for gain curse and renounce the Lord.
4 In the pride of their countenance the wicked say, ‘God will not seek it out’;
all their thoughts are, ‘There is no God.’

do not forget the oppressed.
13 Why do the wicked renounce God,
and say in their hearts, ‘You will not call us to account’?
14 But you do see! Indeed you note trouble and grief,
that you may take it into your hands;
the helpless commit themselves to you;
you have been the helper of the orphan.
15 Break the arm of the wicked and evildoers;
seek out their wickedness until you find none.
16 The Lord is king for ever and ever;
the nations shall perish from his land.
17 O Lord, you will hear the desire of the meek;
you will strengthen their heart, you will incline your ear
18 to do justice for the orphan and the oppressed,
so that those from earth may strike terror no more.*

Our job as intercessors never is done. Father, we didn’t know to pray for Secretaries of State or health departments, but we are not ignorant any more! We will never lay down our armor, but press forward proclaiming and decreeing Your will be done in our United States of America as it is in Heaven.
As Your Psalms proclaim, You are our Defender. You are the One Who takes vengeance on our enemies. You lead us in battle and the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but MIGHTY to the pulling down of strongholds. We don’t see how You will do this, but do this You will. The battle is not over until God wins.
