Failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has congratulated Juno and X-Men star formally known as Ellen Page, after the Oscar-nominated actor announced that she is transgender, has a new name, “Elliot,” and has chosen the pronouns he and they.
In a statement shared on social media Tuesday, Page announced that she was becoming a man. “I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he/they and my name is Elliot,” Clinton wrote. “I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life.

Holy moley. This girl is a female. She declared she was lesbian a few years ago. And she married a woman.

Why are various celebrities and now politicians out there offering congratulations?
I wonder what happens with the acting career of Ellen going forward. Will she,he,it, be offered female parts, or male parts, or only be offered those rare roles where a script calls for a transgendered character?

I wonder how she (Ellen) managed to completely change all of her XX chromosomes to XY chromosomes, and effect all of the physiological changes necessary to become male?
She must have access to some pretty advanced technology. I’ve worked in world-class research institutes, and I can guarantee that we never had any technology so advanced that it can literally change the genetic blueprint and physical traits of an entire complex organism. Where did she find scientists capable of doing all that?
