The record surge in coronavirus cases across the US is likely far worse, with an estimated eight infections unreported for every one infection counted, according to a government report — which would put the true tally closer to 100 million
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) calculated that by the end of September there had really been as many as 53 million Americans contract the deadly bug — just under eight times the confirmed cases reported at the time.
Of those, the CDC believes about 45 million were sick at some point and about 2.4 million were hospitalized.
The true tally is likely now far higher, with November continually breaking case records across the US — with now 12,778,256 cases officially reported,
f the CDC is correct about the number of missed cases, that would put the true number of infections in the US now closer to 100 million.
As well as record numbers of infections, the US is also seeing more people hospitalized by the contagion than ever before — as well as record numbers of deaths in at least nine states.
It comes as mass travel for Thanksgiving against CDC guidance is feared to create even more disaster.

Explain to me how this is “far worse”. Am I losing my mind here. If there are an estimated eight infections unreported for every one infection counted, then this bug isn’t really bothering a majority that have it. It would also mean the mortality rate is much lower than being reported, making jaywalking more dangerous than the China Plague.

Yup...and if so many people have been exposed, herd immunity is much closer.
Well, it is much more deadly than colds and the usual flu.
There are a lot of extra dead people as proof.
But it isn’t some cataclysmic plague that justifies the actual catastrophes we are inflicting on ourselves, to little effect.

Not if you use these latest figures with the CDC saying that up to 100 million people are currently infected... If true it is definatelynot more deadly than the “usual flu”. The additional dead have been from people not going to the doctor or hospital for the real killers, stroke, cancer, and heart disease... and not being able to get "elective medical procedures for these same problems. Poor nutrition, lack of exercise and mental problems from isolation, causing depression, suicide... etc. etc...
Your opinion is based on sensational coverage by the MSM and a lot of creative accounting by government agencies and universities. If they called anyone who had a cold when they died a “cold death” then there would be a lot more deaths attributed to colds, the same can be said of the flu. There has never been a time when anyone who had the flu when they died from a motorcycle accident, or were stabbed or shot was called a “flu death” but there are countless examples of this type of accounting eccentricity with Covid.
They can’t know that.

On another note, I read today that Keith Richards was found to be immune to COVID, something in his blood protects him. Unfortunately they can't figure out what it is because there's so much stuff circulating in there and it's too dangerous to give all that to a normal person.

Yes, the CDC has just announced that Covid-19 is now nearly as deadly as the common cold.
Note the dead peak is *after* the infected peak.
That said, just for hospitalizations, we know that the fatality rate is about 1/4 of what it was early on.
