Legendary rock-and-roll guitarist and vocalist Eric Clapton is collaborating with Van Morrison on a song called “Stand and Deliver” that is critical of United Kingdom’s laughably stringent COVID lockdowns and their effects on live music. Predictably, liberals on Twitter are seething uncontrollably over the news. Clapton, the only three-time inductee to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, told Variety magazine that he chose to collaborate with Morrison on the song after finding the effect of lockdowns on musicians “deeply upsetting.”
“We must stand up and be counted because we need to find a way out of this mess. The alternative is not worth thinking about. Live music might never recover,” Clapton stated.
Morrison, who founded the Save Live Music campaign, said “Eric’s recording is fantastic and will clearly resonate with the many who share our frustrations,” adding, “It is heart-breaking to see so many talented musicians lack any meaningful support from the government, but we want to reassure them that we are working hard every day to lobby for the return of live music, and to save our industry.”
The attacks on Clapton from unknown verified profiles on Twitter began almost immediately. Buzzwords such as “white supremacist,” stemming from Clapton’s collaboration with Morrison and and off-the-cuff remarks he made onstage in support of British nationalism in 1976, appeared at the vanguard of the outrage machine.
Of course Eric Clapton wrote an anti-lockdown song. He’s a white supremacist.

On the one hand, Eric Clapton and Van Morrison are former rock stars.
On the other hand, they're now 75-year-old white guys. https://t.co/n8HmsSx8av

I was today years old when I learned that Eric Clapton is a racist piece of shit.

Sorry, but Ginger died in October 2019.
Every anti-lockdown protest I see coming out of London has all racial groups involved in it.
Indeed.
Maybe people think Clapton’s a white
supremacist because the band was
named after something white—Cream.
>>Edgar Winter
He and late brother Johnny both albinos.
I interviewed Johnny on non commercial radio in 2014.He died later that year
while touring Europe.Band member Paul
Nelson tried to rehab Johnny from drugs...
but damage was done to Johnny’s body.
“Nelson took over as that artist’s manager and made immediate changes that made it possible for Winter to begin to recover from decades of abuse.”—Classic Rock
Revisited
Nelson appears in a documentary about
Johnny, Down and Dirty, as does Edgar.
We had Nelson’s band play live last Jan.
at our station hours before they played
a gig in Beverly MA.
Some of my favorites, too, for both Clapton and Morrison.
>>Live music might never recover
We know a couple who run a 200 seat club in Beverly MA that has live blues and
rock. “No seat is more than 20 feet
from the stage”. Great acoustics and
comfortable (seating etc).It has been
closed since March. For awhile they ran
drive-in concerts one town over (pay
by the carload) though local authorities shut it down. Other drive in places
allowed elsewhere.
The best places have been allowed to
do is put up tents in parking lots
and hold small scale shows. Place in
Beverly has no lot etc. And with cold weather coming that is ending.
Bars without food have been closed all
along. Places with food like an
Applebee’s must stop serving at 9:30 pm.
(MA governor is Charlie Baker; Biden
thinks his last name is Parker)
(Parody of Mary Hopkins Those Were the Days, by me)
Once upon a time there was a tavern
Then we got the virus, so it closed
“You can’t serve them,” says Governor
Baker
Will they ever re open? No one knows
Those were the days my friend, we
thought they’d never end—we’d sing and
dance forever and a day.
(The gig was at the intimate club I
mentioned)
Lol. That scrawny dude sure can play.
No one listens to racist, White Supremacist name-calling garbage anymore. It is meaningless.
“ Ginger Baker is kinda an asshole but still fun at parties.”
Not anymore, he’s not.
“I shot my foot off” but I should have shot the enemy

Edgar Winter. Now that’s funny. First laugh of the morning.
EC misses 100% of the f***s he doesn’t give about these idiots.
Someone please tell these idiots to go get a job.
Years ago, I was very fortunate enough to see Eric Clapton and Muddy Waters in concert. Muddy Waters opened for an hour. After two and a half hours of Clapton, he brought Muddy out for another 30 minutes of encore. Best concert I’ve ever personally witnessed.
I branched out into bluegrass about nine years ago after over thirty years playing in R&R hobby bands. Western Washington has (had) a very vibrant bluegrass community where it seemed like there were endless opportunities to perform, or just jam.
All gone now thanks to ControllaVirus paranoia.
“Kinda like “I Shot the Sheriff”...”
Bob Marley wrote and made this song a classic.
EC did a nice cover of it...
Edgar Winters!!!
THEY ONLY COME OUT AT NIGHT!!
I was like 7 when I saw the cover.
It TERRIFIED me for weeks!
It was my 18 year old brother’s album.
I didn’t know what the hell an albino was. I was 7!! :)
I still get scared looking at it lol
And I did not know that about Clapton and the 70s goings on.
I’ll be honest, I thought the EU was maybe 2 decades old.
Interesting.
If you’re white and there are six foreigners living in your country, you’re a racist if you want to retain sovereignty
White supremacy is now multi-racial, as far as the left is concerned.
It’s racist not to lock down? I need a careful explanation. What race is it hurting to wish for live music concerts? Please explain. It might take a while to get through to me.
