States that had the fewest restrictions now have the worst outbreaks

Coronavirus cases are rising in almost every U.S. state. But the surge is worst now in places where leaders neglected to keep up forceful virus containment efforts or failed to implement basic measures like mask mandates in the first place, according to a New York Times analysis of data from the University of Oxford.

Using an index that tracks policy responses to the pandemic, these charts show the number of new virus cases and hospitalizations in each state relative to the state’s recent containment measures.

I think the states (VA, NY) are letting liquor stores stay open as well, right? VA powers-that-be talking about a 2 week lockdown if cases go up after Thanksgiving - IMO, “punishment” for daring to get together to celebrate, count blessings, etc. when they wanted gatherings, travel etc. restricted.

When folks need faith & family the most, DemonRat & some Repub state governments try to shut us off from it .... their commie masks are ‘off’ & exposing their true intentions, while they require us to keep our mask muzzles on.

Funny with the exception is ND and Louisiana looks like every state with high deaths per million have had some of the most aggressive lock downs in place for the longest periods of time.

Notice anything odd about the data concerning Alaska and District of Columbia?

Wait you actually read the NYT at one time? Really?

Not really. I did read the headlines quoted in other publications. I never believed them though. I should have said "I remain New York-Times-free."

The only newspaper worthy of my attention these days is The Epoch Times.

“Outbreak.” Unreliable positive tests for asymptomatic people, normal flu season illnesses...no change in overall death rate nationally or by state....

Run away, run away! We’re all gonna die unless we hand over our lives to the state...which is about the same as dying.

Positive test results are counted as cases. Plenty of people have shown some doubt about reliability. Elon Musk even had a different test result in each of his nostrils.

Bill DeBlasio and Andrew Cuomo were downplaying the virus in February.

Agreed. It’s the equivalent of reading the old Pravda and Izvestia and believing every word.

Sum Ting Wong.

There is absolutely no way there are more active cases in Commiefornia than there are recovered cases. It is simply unpossible.

The virus has been around for 10 months. It has a lifespan of approximately two weeks.

In order for there to be more active cases than recovered cases, almost every one of those active cases would have to have been contracted within the last two weeks.

We.....are.....being.......played.

There have been more tests than Alaska and D.C. has people. The stat is meaningless. Obviously people have been tested several times in Alaska and D.C.

There have been reports of several false positives. Elon Musk said he was tested 4 times in one day and two tests came back positive and two came back negative.

How many of those "cases" were not cases at all?

We are now in flu season. It is amazing that there are very few cases of your run of the mill flu that is being reported at hospitals! It’s all China Virus!
