Andrew Weissmann, an MSNBC contributor and top deputy to former special counsel Robert Mueller, is calling on former Vice President Joe Biden to prosecute President Donald Trump, assuming he will be inaugurated in January.
Weissmann, in an op-ed for the New York Times that the next Department of Justice “should investigate Mr. Trump and, if warranted, prosecute him for potential federal crimes.”
“Mr. Trump’s criminal exposure is clear,” he said, adding that there is “ample evidence to support a charge that Mr. Trump obstructed justice,” in the Mueller probe, which cleared the president of any criminal wrongdoing between himself and the Russian government during his White House transition.
Weissmann then floated the possibility that President Trump could “pardon not just his family and friends before leaving office but also himself in order to avoid federal criminal liability.”
“In short, being president should mean you are more accountable, not less, to the rule of law,” he concluded.
Weissmann’s op-ed comes after the former Mueller prosecutor compared President Trump to Nazi Germany Dictator Adolf Hitler.
“For those people who say we should appease Trump, how did that approach go for Neville Chamberlain,” he wrote on Twitter.
In September, Weissmann seemingly threw Mueller under the bus by lamenting that they “could have done more” in their investigation into President Trump.

You can bet your last dollar that unlike the actual criminals skating from past administrations, ‘they’ will go out of their way to try to prosecute Trump for something/anything.

There is ample evidence the investigation itself was not just a sham, it involved criminal acts by the very law enforcement officers charged with preserving the constitution.
This guy has the gall to come out and say this? Anyone who thinks “this” can be defeated at the ballot box is a fool. You cannot fix “this”. These people are sick.
The left keeps upping the temperature of hate. They are horrible people.
Then we should sure as hell investigate and prosecute Biden and his family.

Both Mueller and Weissmann should have been disbarred and proscuted for abuses of power years ago.
Weeks ago, I told my husband that if Biden wins, Trump needs to pardon himself, his family members, and everyone closely associated with him because the Dems will make up crimes to get these people. They did it when Trump was in office; once he’s out of office, it will be even worse.
Obstruction of justice: “no evidence, has already been litigated, old news, let’s move on”
Also, now Trump should declassify even more documents that he already planned to do.

Go ahead and keep pushing. A shame the FBI and DOJ was not working fairly. We would have seen a lot of people arrested. Ready to investigate Trump but still haven’t had the Hillary emails or laptop finished up.
