'A national embarrassment': Chris Christie scorches Trump's legal team; "We cannot continue to act as if something happened here that didn't happen"

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie criticized President Donald Trump’s legal team Sunday morning, calling its continued legal challenges and allegations of widespread electoral fraud “a national embarrassment.”

On ABC’s “This Week,” Christie repeatedly chastised Trump’s lawyers for alleging fraud in interviews and press conferences despite their lawsuits pleading otherwise, and called for their legal challenges to end.

“The legal team has been a national embarrassment… They allege fraud outside the courtroom, but when they go inside the courtroom, they don’t plead fraud and they don’t argue fraud,” Christie said.

He also called out Trump lawyer Sidney Powell, criticizing her for accusing Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp of committing a crime, only to be “unwilling to go on TV and defend and lay out the evidence that she supposedly has.”

“I voted for [Trump] twice,” Christie added, “but elections have consequences, and we cannot continue to act as if something happened here that didn’t happen. You have an obligation to present the evidence, [but] the evidence has not been presented.”

Trump’s legal team, led by former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, has said without evidence that millions of votes in multiple swing states were switched from Trump to President-elect Joe Biden, and has falsely alleged that the amount of votes tallied in cities including Detroit and Philadelphia exceeded the number of registered voters living in them.

One of the lawsuits Giuliani led in Michigan used data that reflected towns in Minnesota.

Christie also pointed to conservative media figures who have criticized Trump’s legal team for their refusal to provide evidence.

“If you are unwilling to come forward and present the evidence, it must mean the evidence doesn’t exist,” Christie said, referring to Fox News’ Host Tucker Carlson’s recent criticism of Trump’s legal team along similar lines.

If the experience of this year and the reaction to the virus tells you anything, it’s that this country is fully ready for a Nazi or Soviet style dictatorship. The Republicans want that too. Everyone in the government class is salivating over an American population of peasants and masters.

"It is a national embarrassment that Republicans are so quick to concede and side with their enemies."

Believe it or not, even in 1861 there were also plenty of Republicans eager to "compromise" and appease treasonous Democrats!
Just as today, nobody then knew how things would turn out, but then as now we had a leader who'd stand firm for principle and our Constitution.

One difference: I don't think the press and "Big Tech" of 1861 were as uniformly anti-American as today.

Chris Christie Makes Cameo Video For Montana Democrat (By “mistake”)
NY Times ^ | 10-29-2020 | Jonah Engel Bromwich and Ezra Marcus

Chris Christie, the former New Jersey governor, on Thursday became the latest Republican politician to be fooled into making a campaign video on behalf of a Democrat. Mr. Christie is one of many of Mr. Trump’s current and former associates available for hire on Cameo, an app that allows users to commission personalized videos from minor — and increasingly major — celebrities. The video, which cost $200, was framed as a jovial message to a person named Greg, who Mr. Christie was prompted to encourage to return to New Jersey, Greg’s former home. What Mr. Christie did not know was...

New York and New Jersey have a long rivalry.
Some things never change.

You miss a rather BASIC first year law school Truth, FRiend— the evidence is required by the Courts to be presented to the Courts. After it is presented, then it is for the public dissemination as the COURTS allow.

Besides the Constitutional legality of all this there is another more overriding concern— the willful destruction of critical infrastructure by fraud and digital manipulation, which makes the Election Fraud a National Security issue that goes right pass simple political “norms” that the media pushes. They are NOT in the know, and will be well after the fact picking up the pieces they will be reluctant to show— and probably will never show. See how this is divided?

Just because Benedict Arnold fought for the American Revolution didn’t end up meaning he was loyal to it.

I wonder if Chris Christi was loyal even to his own mother?

We always wondered how Christie managed to win in deep blue New Jersey. Wonder what Dominion’s fee was?

> He’s in on the take <

It’s all really odd. You’d think these guys would at least keep quiet until the Supreme Court has ruled on this issue.

So what is Christie angling for? A spot on a Fox News show? A no-work “consulting position” with some organization? It’s something significant, to be sure.

Christie is a national embarrassment, frolicking with his family at a New Jersey State beach that he shut down because of a deadlock over budget allocation. He’s just another hypocrite who issues orders restricting peoples’ rights, then refuses to obey his own orders.

In an age when we can trust virtually no institution and damn few individuals, Sydney Powell stands out as a rock of integrity who has very little personally to gain from risking her reputation, her license, her career and her dignity in a bogus cause. She is too experienced and too proficient an attorney to entirely misjudge her case. That is not to say that she can necessarily win the case but it is to say that she must believe that she can at least credibly support it.

My hope is that she has a silver bullet but my expectation is that she has a combination of expert testimony, statistical probability, history of criminal misuse of the software, and individual testimony of individual acts of misfeasance all of which may or may not combine to persuade the court of its sufficiency.

At any rate I have always believed that the case depends on some solid evidence concerning the machines and software combined with old-fashioned, shoe leather type direct and circumstantial evidence from witnesses and physical ballots. It is a long shot but our only shot.

I hold tightly to the conviction that a lawyer as estimable as Sydney Powell would not subject herself to national embarrassment if she did not believe the allegations she makes are true and provable.

Some are; on the other hand, the best way to cement support for Trump [which in turn aides the party’s agenda] is to maintain his image as an outsider- an underdog who fights against all odds. Intentionally or not, their willingness to play wimp or even backstabber makes Trump’s base love him even more, willing to drop everything and physically show up to protest against rats and rally behind him.
