One school district in Washington state has evidently decided that Asians no longer qualify as persons of color.
In their latest equity report, administrators at North Thurston Public Schools—which oversees some 16,000 students—lumped Asians in with whites and measured their academic achievements against "students of color," a category that includes "Black, Latinx, Native American, Pacific Islander, and Multi-Racial Students" who have experienced "persistent opportunity gaps."

It’s okay to be white.
The other dirty secret is that Chinese, Koreans, Vietnamese never have seen themselves as victims or oppressed. They believe in self-responsibility. They actually believe in the ability and potential of their own race
The Left has worked hard to convert them to the religion of victimhood, and racial politics and hatred, but its basically failed.

But like everything surrounding the subject of ‘race’ there are code words. Very few ‘black’ people skin color even approaches black, most are a shade of brown. Latinos/Hispanics can be as ‘white’ as any European. Someone from Lebanon may be counted as a P.O.C. but an Israeli with the exact same physical features will not be. People from Iran, which takes its name from Aryan...?
Problem for schools is that ‘Asians’ out perform just about every identifiable group. While never admitted, P.O.C is supposed to designate victims and therefore Asians don’t qualify, except of course when global pandemics originate from Asia and someone his the bad taste to mention the fact.

I doubt it. It’s more about upbringing and family.
If an Asian kid is doing poorly, his mom will slap him upside the head until he brings his grades up.
If you’re a white kid, your parents will restrict your fun activities until you get better grades.
If your a minority, then it’s OK to be lazy, because your single mom is at work at her 2 jobs and doesn’t have the time to straighten you out.

Being pissed about Affirmative Action was the first step in lots of leading Jewish conservative leaders’ education.

There’s no “almost” about it.
But they’re mainly doing it to add the Asians to the poor whites left in public schools, so as to create a larger gap between the new “whites” and the Ilan Omars of the world.
It the reachers were properly raised at home they would not see every person as color coded.
